Yup, Metromarketing. I Googled and got: http://www.metromkt.com/ a Houston based marketing promoter that seems to specialize in branded promotions, employee incentives, corporate stores and printing. Unfortunately the website was largely out of service for "a few hours, please return later."

To the WSJ ad, it's short and slick, but immediately invokes a "Yeah, right!" reaction.

Each and everytime I call I get this young lady Metro Mktg, Then mark recirded voice asks that you leave a name and number ? ? I have nothing better to do tan trace down these so called "Great Wealth Building Scams " and they are out there ! I just can't figure this one out. Unles my friend Marvin hit the nail onthehead, that Mark sells the numbers left for people looking for income opportunities and sells them to telemarketer or better still Mark may be that 'MAN". Question now is  . .have any of you received more phone solicitations than usual? Regards fellow readers  !

This is the worst kind of scam in that there is enough "believability" to get people in today desperate economic environment to put up the money and try it.

The concept is to provide hotels with key holders at no charge which are paid for by local restaurants that pay to be on the key holder.

They make a couple of claims about the product which sound good:
    (1) All hotels need this product
    (2) There is no competition
    (3) You will make your money back in 30 days

    The facts are as follows;
    (1) Only the low end hotels have an interest.  The higher quality hotels have "brand standards" that preclude them from getting involved with products like this.
    (2) There is LOTS of competition.  Every hotel out there had been approached by a dozen people offering products like this.
    (3) You will be lucky if you make your investment back in 15 months.

Hope this helps other avoid wasting $15K and a couple of years of their life.

Thanks for the post.  Saw it in today's WSJ and thought it was legit.  Called and they answered Metro Marketing and then passed to a voice mail of a "Richard", but did not leave my number.  I respect the WSJ --- why do they let this continue?

Good question.  There is no way they can provide evidence to back up the claims they make in their ads.

They also advertise in FORBES magazine, another well respected publication.

One of the titles they use in the ad for the Wall Street Journal is "OUR PATENTED PRODUCT HAS GENERATED MILLIONS."

They leave out the fact that the millions generated has been for themselves from the suckers that paid $14,900 to peddle their product.

    Been Scamed
These people have 3 business opptys. A passport, a key and a glass with a logo. I made the mistake
of wiring them 13,000.00 slap me. They lied about everything. I have made a small amount of revenue.
They sAID THE TERRITORY WAS eXCLUSIVE No. They had sold out the territory. My area had been
combed over. Their manuel is a copied piece of paper. Their support is 1 guy. No help no nothing.
Now they will not give me my money back. I even offered half. They have violated every
bussiness oppty code. Do not get scammed.
