Got a pop-up on the computer screen from Microsoft Defender.  "Have Zeus virus, don't shutdown or you'll have problems, call 866-639-8853."  Always shutdown and reboot and no problems.  Am running AVG anti-virus

If you receive the popup to telephone 8666398853 (or any number) you are infected. Microsoft will not alert you in this manner. There are some steps you can take to rid yourself of this virus. Instead of me writing the somewhat lengthy method, I'll link to the support page addressing this issue.

Said my computer was infected and lets take a look at your bank account, I said no he tried to sell
me a subscription. hung up the phone because i said no.

They logged in remotely  to my desktop computer and told me that my Wi-Fi network with threatened. They said that my IP address was compromised.  They even logged on to my WebCam, thankfully I had covered it with a Post-it. Clearly this phone number is a scam

It sure is people from India… I was transferred to  different people, all of which have the same accents, when I asked where they were located… They said they were located in Rockwall Texas

These people will be dealt with. Sure they're from other countries but they get paid to be scrupulous by people in 1st world countries.
