I had a payday loan from discount advances, they took the ach directly from my acct with no problem, I was not late on my loan or in default when CPD called and said that discount advances couldn't take the ach from my acct for my upcoming payment and I need to get a money gram and send it to CPD on the due date but they wanted me to send them $$150 more than I was supposed to owe on my pay date, I did not take a loan with CPD, I was not delinquent in my payments and I told them I would only deal with my lender, any suggestions on how to handle this?

It may be possible that discount advances does not have a license to do business in your state. Discount advances is also my cash now and payday max. The reason the contacted you is because they have been shut down by the FTC and can no longer debit accounts.  First step is to close you account and open a new one.  That way they will no longer have access to your account. Second step check with your attorney general's office to see if they have a license to do business in your state. If they don't file a complaint with the attorney general's office. You can do this on their  website.  If they have no license then the loan is illegal  unenforceable and uncollectable. That don't mean they won't try. Google discount advances or payday max they are one in the same and owned by the same person. Read all you can about this company and you will see the multiple lawsuits against them.  If they send the account to collection it will not be collectable because it is illegal. They will however harass you. You can change you phone number. They won't try to sue because they are illegal and they don't want anyone looking to close at their business.  I do suggest repaying the principle amount only, that is the amount you borrowed.  Never pay by western union or money gram. Pay by postal money order only. Insist that they give you an address to sent you payment to. Do not pay by check, debit card or credit card. Giving that information you are only opening your self for fraud and for them to take from your account what they want.  Insist on an address to send a money order to. If no address then no payment.  Why should you have to pay not only their fees and interest and the western union or money gram fee to. Please protect your self.  Pay no one but who you borrowed money from. If they don't give you an address then they don't get paid.  Please research the information I put here. please google  discount advances, my cash now and payday max and you will see they are the same company owned by one person.

I am not delinquent.... they just took a payment on the 1st and the 15th is my last payment to them of $131.  They called telling me I have to Moneygram the payment.  I am NOT comfortable doing this.  But I'm afraid if I don't they'll tack a bunch of fees on?

Told me they are an "outsourced" call center for various companies.  Would not give me any info unless I gave him my social security number.  I told him to kiss my *%$ that I would not give out my info.  He replied that he couldn't give me any info unless I gave him my ssn.  I just hung up.

Well you didn't burst my bubble at all. According to my lawyer they are oversea's scammers. And if you been dealing with them for 4 yrs. something must be terrible wrong, big overpriced interest fees I presume so they can keep you in debt and in their control forever. You mean it's took you over 4 years to pay that loan off? You better wake up!

They tried to get me to go to Walmart in the dead of the night to get a moneygram and I didn't either, that wasn't what I signed for. They are illegal if they are asking you to do that. It's a scam. they will get nothing from me period, they have to talk to my lawyer instead of me.

I was not aware that mycashnow went out of business.  Until last Friday, Oct 11, 2013, my payments were deducted from my account as agreed and I have never missed a payment.  I discovered yesterday that the payment for last Friday was not collected by ACH transfer as before.  I called mycashnow and they said I would have to set up a payment through silverrivermanagement and they transferred the call for me.  I discovered the payment was not made because a company called credit protection depot had called my phone asking for the payment.  Sounds like I am one of thousands that is being scammed to send money to a company that doesn't exist.  I will not be sending a moneygram as they requested.  My agreement with mycashnow was for ACH withdrawl and the money is there, if they should try to collect it.  According to my bank, they never submitted a request for funds on the 11th.  Credit collection depot asked me to send a money gram to silver river management, then call them and let them know I sent it at 1-855-610-9773, then call mycashnow and ask them for a receipt.  Who is answering the mycashnow numbers if they are out of business?  Last but not least, they know exactly what the payment was supposed to be, yet they offered to settle it for less, if I sent the payment today. I asked them why would they offer to settle a current and up to date account, especially when the money is in the bank for mycashnow to just withdraw.  They told me that due to a new state law, they could not take ach payments from my bank.  My bank knows nothing about this, I can find nothing about it through my own search...  Something is definitely stinky here.... peeewheeww.

I have learned in my research that mycashnow has been shut down. I would not send money through money gram as it is a scam. I have a feature on my phone where you can block there numbers too, that way you are not getting annoying calls. It has been said that they were practicing illegal practices and those of us that have outstanding loans are not obligated to pay them back because they are not legal contracts. I had one more payment myself as I have not had any issues with them. I noticed that their fees had tripled last month and when I asked about them, they "settled" back down. I knew something was up then but couldn't quite put my finger on it. However, the article I read stated that NY State Attorney successfully shut them down and 400 people lost their jobs. They are no longer able to process payments through ACH as they have been banned. I plan to change my account number because they are going to figure out a way around it and when they do, they will try to get into your account. Here's a link to the article I was referring to. Good luck

Thank you for the information. holy smokes!  God is good.  I'm thankful I found this directory.  I have contacted the big 3 credit reporting agencies and the social security administration to start a fraud alert.  It's free and I received free and immediate internet credit reports as well.  The monitoring is active for 90 days and I can extend beyond that if necessary.

I also have one payment due.  When I called they wanted me to wire money.  I said no I will send you a check.  They said that they cannot accept checks.  Who  (that is legitimate) cannot accept checks for payments.  Then I thought a check is probably not a great idea.  This would give them  access to my checking account number.  So if you wire you have no paper trail and Cash Now can say you didnt pay, Silver Management and CDC will they give the money to Cash Now????  I spoke to my bank and they advised to close  my existing account.  They said that when this Silver Management figures out how  they can ACH my account they will pull the payment plus any fees they deem due.  This is what I did.  Closed my account.

after reading about these payday loan companies being shut down, my question is I have 2 payday loans and they have taken one payment out and now getting constant phone to make payment. Do I just payoff the principal and 4get bout the fees or if they insist I must pay there fees I don't pay at all? My payments would be a cashier check or a money order. No personal checks. Any thoughts?

Can you read?  Are you an illiterate?  Where in that post did they say one word to even suggest they didn't pay their bill?  Instead, a low-life like you shows up and comments on a very old post in incomprehensible English.

Now, who should be ashamed you bottom-feeding maggot?
