- Sherri Hamiter| 4 repliesThey text messaged me saying they were from NCUA. The message said: Dear Customer we are sorry to inform you that we had to lock your Credit Union access. To reactivate it please call 866-645-5082 toll. When I called the number it asked if I want to reactivate put in 1. Then it said to put in my credit card number and after putting the number in, hit the pound key.

- just meA few days ago (12/06/08 9:23am), I got the same text message as the first poster, only the phone number they gave to call is 1-866-578-1088. Like another poster, the number on the caller ID was 1010100001. I immediately suspected a scam, so I never called the number. After reading the above, I'm certain it's a scam.
