It's a SCAM. It's not United Health. Just some tele marketer looking to get your personal info. I think United Health or an affiliate might have been hacked.

It's not a scam. If have United Health Care (I go through AARP) and you use their website at https://www.aarpmedicareplans.com and have input your prescription information in your account on that website, that's probably why you are receiving these reminder phone calls. Or, you can use their prescription reminder tool through your account on that website to receive reminders through text or email.

Also wanted to say that if you listen to the phone call, it is automated and the only personal information they ask is for you to confirm the name they already have on file (they will say the name) and then they ask for your birth year only. I don't work for them and at first I was afraid of these phone calls, but after doing some research I realized that it's not a scam.

I have United Health and just got off the phone with them using the phone # provided on the back of my card.
I had called them MONTHS AGO to complain about their constant annoying phone calls for surveys no doubt for nonsense useless Obamacare.   At that time they placed me on their DO NOT CALL LIST which DOES WORK as I have not received anymore calls until now.   The customer service rep suggested again the list which I told her I was already on and she then confirmed that yes I was...I went on to read one of the quotes from here saying they were trying to remind us to fill a prescription...she immediately said but I' m looking at your records...YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PRESCRIPTIONS......not [***] Sherlock.....At that point she asked me for the phone #...... After looking at their numbers which she said were numerous she said.....THAT IS NOT ONE OF OUR PHONE NUMBERS.
They just got blocked.....THIS IS A SCAM....IT IS NOT UNITED HEALTH....IF THEY ARE YOUR CARRIER DO NOT FALL FOR THIS ,CALL THEM ON THE # ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD.

Left voicemail, didn't listen to it but deleted, don't want any calls from United Health that are robocalls.  BLOCKED.  This is at least the 4th different UHC robo number I'm now blocking.

Recording asking for personal information verifying names , dob, etc.  The recording says that my insurance with United Health Care's contract is expired.  I am a senior citizen and if my insurance's contract had expired or about to expire I would have received a letter from them.  They have been calling for the past few month.s

Caller ID says 800 service. Voice mail says it is a prescription refill reminder. UHC does not call about prescription refills. No way to keep them from calling 3-4 times a day.

As indicated below this a United Health Care call. Call your customer service number on the back of your card .Work your way through phone tree to the option  of a live Rep. Request opt out.  You will be provided with United Health Care OPT OUT  # 877-389-9319.

Wow! there's a lot of back and forth on  this site  about whether this number is a scam or not. I still am not sure. I've been getting these calls for at least a year - no matter what I do i.e. I think I've addressed it and boom here it is again.  I got a call yesterday from this 866-* number.  Drives me bananas whether it's a scam or not because whatever - I'm not interested.  

I'll try United Health Care customer service to opt out, but I think I did that months ago!

Yes it's United HealthCare's prescription reminder.
If you call back and you hang on until the end of the call you will be given the option to have your number removed from this service call.
They were reminding me to renew a prescription that I have not decided to continue using.
Not a bad service for those who tend to forget to renew their prescriptions, but not for me.

I have UHC and my prescription is good for another week, so this must have been a legitimate reminder to get it refilled. A couple days earlier, got a reminder to get a flu shot, too. These calls are annoying, especially when they ask you to call back for a very important message and give them your name and DOB. I won't give any personal info out on the phone, so they are out of luck.

They need to re-do this request so we can call back, enter the seven digit number they gave us, and then acknowledge (by pressing a number) that we received their message. How hard is that?

I called the company (United Health Care) and they told me it was PROBABLY confirming a payment I made recently.
What a joke - annoying me with a request to call them back, maybe they are trying to discourage me from making payments, by making sure they annoy me  when I do make one!

said it was United Health Care.  left a msn on my voice mail that I was to call them back.  when I called back they wanted some 7 digit code that they had not provided to me.  sounds like a rip off.

Barb I just hung up on a call wanting to talk to me about refill information.
