- Melissatext came over and had this number with a note saying the account was closed. I called from a land line and the call would not go through. This is a huge SCAM to try and get your debt card info.

As you might have guessed, I did not call. Might be interesting to give a card number that they try to use and it ends up catching them in act of using it. But I'm too chicken to do that. Why isn't the FBI or somebody like that calling these numbers and setting up a sting? Is every other day now.... Trans Union Credit Union Card BS. The Trans Union Credit Union has a message on their home page asking people to ignore this text. Is very annoying though! I hope the feds catch the people behind this scam!- Caller: Tyrans Union

I've heard that they are trying to catch the people. I don't know exactly how dificult that might be, but it makes no sense that they have not at least block or disable the number.
Phone carriers should help by screening this type of texts. - mr. irritatedrecieved text saying "your Trans West Credit Union Debit Card has been Deactivated. Contact us immediately at 8666549474. this is the 2nd time I have recieved it and I"m getting very irritated.

I visited the Sooper CU site and they have the following warning posted: SECURITY ALERT - We have received numerous reports of fraudulent text messages that appear to have come from Sooper Credit Union. Sooper Credit Union did not authorize these text messages and we will never ask for your personal financial information. If you responded by calling the phone number in the text message and you provided your account information and are a member of Sooper Credit Union please contact us at 303-427-5005. If you are not a member of Sooper Credit Union but did provide personal financial information, please contact your financial institution immediately.

I got the same Sooper CU debit card text...see www.soopercu.org. Hopefully they can do something about it. But phishing scams are only as successful as the suckers who fall for them.
