    I also got a call on my cell phone. Just a message saying to "call our toll free number 866-659-4140". No identification. if it is the gas company lt them just say so, and not sound fishy and vague.

    I receive calls from this phone number on my company blackberry.  I don't use the number for personal calls.  There is no answer when I pick up... the call disconnects immediately.

    I tried to call the number back and I get a "call failed" message.

    Its Southern Connecticut Gas company. They have a ridiculous automated phone system that starts calling once a day if your payment is more than 2 days late. They also don't update their system so I regularly gets calls AFTER I have already paid my bill (i.e. I paid my bill two days ago online, and SCG is still calling me this morning looking for money).

    I can understand if the account is 31-60 days past due but their collection tactics are ridiculous. Especially as my bill is never more than $50/month and I always pay it within a week of its due date. Basically, they suck --- I just ignore the calls.

    Got 3 calls from this number since yesterday.  If it is Southern Ct. Gas Company, today is June 8 and my payment is due June 11.  Last month, they called the day before the payment was due.  So far, no message has been left identifying the caller but considering their past history and what other people have said about who this phone number belongs to, I can only assume it is the Gas Company.  Boy, they must be desperate!

    I was getting 5-6 calls a day on my personal cell, for someone I never heard of no option to tell anyone they are calling the wrong number.  I just called the Southern CT Gas co and requested they cease and desist.   Thanks for the info.

    These calls are really annoying. My service got shut off at my last place. I told them I'm only working part-time and they wouldn't work with me because I had an agreement before and didn't follow it. UI did. I had to pay UI $340 to get back on the agreement (Owed UI $1900). I owed SCG $1500 and the said they would put me back on a payment plan if I gave them $1380. Aside from that being incredibly stupid and not needing a plan at that point, I said I couldn't do it. So my service remains disconnected, although it is on from someone else at my new place. I have informed them of this and they left it on, so that's on them. When I call the number I do get through but it dumps me into the phone prompt system. Then you wait on hold for a LONG, LONG time. I usually give up and hang up. I have better things to do than wait on the phone for an hour hoping someone will answer so I can tell them to stop calling.
