- GinnyThis foreign man called and said he needed to verify my information. I asked who he was employed with. He said, "Go get your papers and bring them to the phone because we need to verify this for you to continue getting medicare." He wanted my bank statement, birthdate, medicare# and checking account #. I told him I wouldn't give it to him and he got very angry and kept telling me to "go get my papers".
I did not give him my personal information because he does not work for medicare. They do not call and ask for information - they have my information! - AliceYesterday a man of what sounded to be Eastern Indian decent called and barked and ordered me to get my medicare info, checking acct#, bank statement and so on for the purpose of buying some type of medical card. They never tell you you are buying anything but they kept telling there's no monthly fee, over and over and over. I told him no thank you and don't call again and he called me back after i hang up.

- dolly| 1 replyI was at my mother's about 4 weeks ago and hung up on this guy with a thick accent. Kept talking about medical plan and could just about make out all but the company name and told him we already had insurance, he kept repeating " you don't understand, this is something you already have". I too hung up. Doesn't he call again a few weeks later and my mother rattled off the info he asked for. $389.00 was deducted from her checking account about a week later. The company is Pronto Meds, and I have reported them to the Do-not-call-registry. They say she will be receiving an info pkt in the mail with instructions to cancel, but nothing has come yet. She actually knows better but since we recently switched rx plans she got sucked in thinking the call was about the switch.

- DanslerA male with a heavy Indian accent called one of my elder relatives whose husband had recently passed away using this phone number. He claimed to be from the Social Security Administration. He wanted her to tell him her bank account information so he could verify it and be sure that her SS checks would not be delayed. This is obviously a fraud and a scam, but in her state of mind and grief over the recent loss of her husband, she gave him some information before she realized what was going on. This upset her tremendously and it was not only cruel but this person or organization is a bunch of low lifes that are trying to trick elder people out of what little money they have. They need to be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I hope this information helps anyone else this happens to.
- rmbOn Jan 18 2008 a foreign speaking man called and said he needed to update my Social security infro and medcare because they were switching to a new number and system. I argued with him but he threated to stop my check and medical if I did not give him the information. I finally agreed. Then on Feb 22, 08 Pronto Meds took $389.00 from my account. Since I found out they re-did the tape to sound like I purchased a discount medical plan which I did not. They claimed I was to get a package of information on the plan I was to have purchased. Never did receive the new card from the Social security update or from the plan I was to have purchased.
The guy has a Indian-sounding voice and difficult to understand. They are a total rip-off group of people. Caused the checkbook to start bouncing checks since I had no idea they did this till I received the checkbook statement. There should be a way to stop this and get your money back and charge them with this illeagel way of doing business- Caller: I don't know

- ljI have recived about 10 calls from this number in the last 2 days! I was not home yesterday but had 6 missed called and have answered at least 4 today. Each time it was an Indian souning person who asked for some one i do not know, i kept telling them that they had the wrong # but insisting that they did not. the last call i answerd and pretended to the the one thay were looking for. They said they were form Pronto Med and asked me to verifi some info for them address that sort of theing. I wrote down the infor they provied and when thay asked for account #'s. I told them i was not who they thought i was and they begain calling me a lier, and being EXTREMLY RUDE! I took the info i got from them and called the better bussiness beauro and filed a complant. I then looked up the address and name they were suppoed to be calling and found the real person they were looking for. And warned her what was going on. Next i called the National do not call registry and filed a complant. Luckly no one got scamed. I am currently trying to call the number back and have been on hold for neraly 40 minutes. I am not earldly, but that seems to be who they are targeting. So LIST EVERY ELDERY PERSON you know onthe NO call registry. And file a complant each time thay call, i have also set up a recorder on my phone so i can take recording to the BBB as well.

- AdamMy Grandmother recieved a call from this company on April 21 and $389.00 was pulled out of her account on the 29. I called the company today and I talked to lucy. She said that the company is for paying American currency to get prescription drugs at Canadian prices. I asked her how I could get my grandmothers money back and she said that the companies account is frozen and that all i would need to do is to get the bank to reverse the charge. The bank told me that my Grandmother would have to come in and sign an affidavid to claim it as an unauthorized charge and the bank would claim it as fraud. Still waiting to see what happens but, hopefully this works out and that it helps out anyone else who was scammed.
- AngelBOn April 19th, My 71 yr old mother was home alone. She had eye surgery on one eye and was preparing to have the other eye operated on also - so she wasn't seeing too good. She answered the phone. A man with a deep accent that was very hard to understand - told her he was from SS and that he needed to verify her bank info so that he could send out new Medicare card. Not thinking she gave it to him.Someone made a digital ck. and attempted to with draw $389.00 from her bank. The ck was made out to Px-Pronto meds. The website on the ck that we got from the bank - says it has been shut down. That ck was NOT honored cause someone had taken $320.00 via ck the ck was made out to world encounters inc. That ck was cashed. all this cost $175.00 in bank fees. Thankfully we spoke to the bank and the 320.00 plus the 175 in fees will be returned. Seems that the police, bbb, phone company, should all be made aware of this and that they should catch these people. she was told the ladies name which was Foyca Hurn - she never got the mans name that originally called. They told her that she would need this info DTPL1345. Just like the others she has never gotten her information package. If anyone would like to contact me about this please reply to this message and i will be more than happy to talk to you about it.

- BMartin| 1 replyI didn't get a call...I just noted that #389 was takn from my account. I have no idea how they received my account number as I am very very careful not to give out info over the phone, have signed up for all the do not call registries, and hang up on unwanted solicitors. I am working and have a good health plan so don't have any reason to sign up for a medical plan or pharmacy plan. I've closed my account and going to sign fraud papers.
