First call was from an unidentifiable number telling me he would serve papers to my work if I didn't contact this phone number; the phone number professes to be a legal firm but Google Search says it's a home improvement company.

Same as the other two only they called a family members cell phone as well. Which I have never used as a reference anywhere. I did the search of the phone# same information as above. They also said the summons involved my bank so I called my bank and they advised there is a scam going around using this information. People need to get a life and a job of their own.

This is rather lengthy, but please read it. Might save you some stress and money.
Got a call at my office this morning from a gentleman telling me he was going to be serving a summons to my place of business, but if I called this number (866-673-4710) and spoke with a gentleman by the name of ____, then I could have the service of the summons rescheduled.  I then called the number, and guess who answered?  The SAME guy who called in the first place.....ANYWAY, I asked for Mr. _____.  I waited on hold for a minute or two, then he comes on the line.  I give him the information that I was given by the first guy, and he says "I have no idea what you're talking about, I'm a bankruptcy attorney".  Hmmmm, interesting.  SO, then he says, "let me have my paralegal look up your case number and I'll give you the information on it".  OK, great.  Turns out, it is a debt from a payday loan company, Fireside Lenders, that I did business with 2 years ago, and paid in full through a debt consolidation program.   Called my daughter in law (an actual attorney), explained this whole thing to her, and she tells me that NO ONE ever calls in advance of serving a summons, that there is only one attorney with the name I was given, and he isn't even in the state we live in.   I gave the "case" number, she looked it up nationwide, and told me it didn't exist.   I will be calling the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, States Attorney, and anyone else I can to get these people to stop.

    Correct!

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

I've been getting the same calls.  They called half of my family members saying they were going to serve papers.  I suggested that they serve me so I can go to court.  When I called the (866) 673-4710 Kenneth Morgan is a bankruptcy attorney and stated he processed some paperwork for another company.  They refuse to provide me with a validation of the debt.  So until they send me anything, I refuse to admit I owe anything.  These companies pick up a charged off account and try to collect on them.  Don't give them any personal information.  They will tell you where you work, probably because they've done some research on the internet.

Kathy Herb from Paul Stephens law firm called to report that a summons was being sent out on my social security number.  She left a message that involved my bank.  This debt was to be with first federal financial.  I needed to call her back before the end of business day.  I later got a message from a relative that they called looking for me.

I just received a call on my mother's behalf to my cell #.  I called the number back (searched it first and it came up as Advanced Home Protection) and a man answered with 'Hello?'  I told him the reason for my call and then he proceeded to tell me my mother was being sued for $123.75 and that it could proceed to arrest or wage garnishment.   He gave me the name Justin GIlbert with KR Capital and told me to have her call 866-568-0185 x 306 to discuss her options.  I called the number back again and a man answered with "Hello, may I help you?" (Again no proper greeting).  I asked the company and was told it was the law offices of Mr. Stevens and Mr, Probst and that they work with First Federal Financial and that KR Capital is one of their subsidiaries. I said "Really,I just called and was told this is the number for KR Capital."  His sarcastic supply was "Really?  Well it's not."  I think he realized that I caught his scam...
I googled both companies and called them, KR Capital is an investment firm that does not deal with debt and First Federal Financial is a small finance company in Mobile, AL that does not sell out their debt.  This is a lot of work to try to scam someone for $123.75!!!
