“If you have made this purchase on Amazon, recognize it then simply hang up the call and your order will be delivered to your address in 2 to 3 days however if you have not made any such transaction you then immediately call Amazon billing and fraud prevention department on the toll-free number which is 866-678-1396 again the number is 866-678-1396…”

Oops again, sorry for 3 of same message and I DID NOT CALL.

they answer and give false location  - scam.   period.   Now, why doesn't the telephone company go after whomever has this (866) number registered?

received a call at 12:37pm on February 17th stating that Amazon Customer Support saying that $1279.99 was charged on the Amazon card on default on Amazon.com.  If you do not recognize this transaction call Amazon Billing and Fraud at 866-678-1396.
Of course I did NOT return their call - total scam

They called me today too..total scam artists...

Just received a scam call about a  Amazon purchase of the exact amount of $1279.99. Who are these people and why isn't the FBI tracking these calls?

Just received the same scam call. On the phone the number shows as local Verizon call, but the call back number left is the 866 678 1396. Same message, charge to Amazon, package will be delivered (they should send me something good), call this number. Um, NO THANKS.

I received this same automated call this morning. Did not answer. Listened to voicemail and then reported it on Amazon.   Hopefully their real Fraud Dept. can take action against this number.

Received call from 1-866-678-1396 stating that a charge of $1279.99 had been charged to my default card on Amazon.com. I was instructed to call immediately if I didn't make this purchase otherwise the order will be delivered to my address in 2-3 days.

Got the same message on my phone. Suspected scam and googled the number. Glad to see confirmation from so many of you. Thanks.
