called the number, the first hold music, then the 'representative" didn't even ask my name or why I was calling.  Just  said" can I have your social security number".  I said NO and hung up.

I received an email with this phone number in it, stating that my account was billed for 340$u but was felines and I had to call in order to re start my auto bill pay with them.  They used some "ocwen loan service" name ... well I don't have any bills that cost 340$us a month and secondly I have. O bills that come out in the second.

This is the payment processing center for mycheckfree.com.  When you call, they ask for your social security number because that is also your account number.  I just received an email from mycheckfree with this number to call for a problem they had processing a payment (we recently closed a checking account and opened a new one).  To make sure it was legitimate, I headed over to the mycheckfree website and had a webchat with a customer representative who confirmed everything the email told me.  Hope this helps.

I hope this is true and not a scam. Because I did the same thing.  The email was for the precise amount I paid for a ConEd bill on line.  So if this was not legit, they might have hacked the ConEd web site. How else could they get this info?  I have the bill, not them?
