Received a call from this same number from a John Anderson giving the same threats.  When I asked what it was for, he needed last 4 digits of my Social.  I at first refused, but he said he couldn't tell me what it was for unless he had that info.  Have received calls like this before and didn't give my Social or last 4 digits.  This time I gave him last 4 digits, he said "Yes" and that he could then discuss detail of the account with me.  He did give me the number of a collection agency (GE Money) and where it originated.  After that he gave me only dollar amounts, but did say it was from an account I used to have that I still owed money on.  When he gave me the over $800 fee, PLUS attorney fees, etc. if it went to court,  I told him I couldn't afford to pay and I'd have to discuss with my daughter.  He immediately dropped total amount down 50% and wanted me to pay ASAP.  Offered to put the account 'on hold' for an hour until I could reach my daughter.  I waited almost the hour, called him back and said I wasn't able to reach her.  He asked me to call this morning after I was able to speak with her and said he'd put the account on 'hold' until I called.  I called this a.m. and got what was apparently a switchboard, asked for his extention (101), was transferred but got his voicemail.  Left message that I would only be available for 1/2 hour then not available rest of the day.  Requested that he return my call within the 1/2 hour.  The time has elapsed and no call.  Won't call him again and will report this.

I was given this number from a "Free Vacation" scam. When I called the number it did not indicate the business name which means it is at least fishy but most likely some sort of scammer.
