- J. AndersonTHIS IS FRAUD. Same text as others have reported. CSCU is "Card Services for Credit Unions" and appears to be a legitimate business based in Clearwater, FL. A call (from a different phone) to 866-692-8575 yields an automated voice that asks the caller to input the card number, expiration date, and pin number. When given a bogus number, the voice comes back with "card number does not match our records, please try again..." THIS IS FRAUD. No way to know if CSCU is behind it or involved in any way (i.e. having been compromised by hackers who may own the email account www@cscu.net). The real key is who pays for and controls the toll-free number 866-692-8575.

- J. AndersonAfter I emailed abuse@cscu.net, I received this response:
"Thank you for reporting the suspicious messages you are receiving.

Unfortunately, third-party hackers are sending out fraudulent text messages and e-mails with the cscu.net domain name. These people are not affiliated with CSCU in any way.
We are working to fix this situation as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Your credit union will never e-mail or text you for your account or personal identification information.

- Fraud departmentHello everyone I work in a credit card fraud department and I have come across this a few times today do not call the number back we are seeing counterfeit cards in Romania after the information is provided to the 866 number on the text. If you gave the information out please call your bank or credit union to check on recent transactions.
- HeatherI got this same text message this morning (I have T-Mobile). I knew right away this must be a scam, as your bank/credit union already has your account information on file and would never send you a request asking for it. I hope nobody called the number and entered in their information.
- scdevineI got my call an hour ago. I don't have an account anywhere, so i figured it was the lamest phish scam ever. I am in Austin, TX.
