Scammers - Fake website that employs a foreign speaking dude - that is very impatient, but only wants to "Confirm your info".   Then you get a bill for $459.95 in the mail that you "cannot cancel".  I for one will contact my attorney about this.

Scammer.  caller represented himself as an ATT Yellow pages rep.  Said just updating info.  Sent bill for 459.95.  Called and told them not interested and remove our info.  Said it was too late and book was already in print.  That was Novemeber 2007.  Still no book.  Never will be.

I keep receiving calls from GoAm Media regarding advertisement ad we so called approved with GoAM Media.  The recording we heard from them was one word "correct".. Not to mention it didn't sound like the employee who worked here.  After three or four calls they final faxed us an invoice in the amount of $495.95.  We are a company which provides a service to a specific market and would not require us to have a listing in the yellow pages because we do not service the comsumer market.  They call us weekly, close to 3-4 times a week to collect the money.  They indicated their next step is collections.  We express to them numerous times, we are not paying the bill.  We are being harrassed, they take us from our work and tie up our lines. They threaten us with a lawsuit.  Does anyone have a advise to what we should do next.  We are tired of dealing with these people. We dont' want to waste money on a lawyer but if we get enough people/business together we could file a class action lawsuite against them.

We are beginning the same thing... GoAM refuses to let me talk to a supervisor, says they did nothing wrong, the invoice stands ($459.95).  The employee who authorized was told he was updating information.  What happens next?

Same thing, and they call me 2 or so times a week.  It's to the point now where I like listening to their BS and lies.  I like being just as annoying to them, however, you'd think these -=5 people=- running this scam would just give up on me.

I've also filed the appropriate reports with the appropriate people.

If anyone's in on a class-action, let me know.

This company called and said they were updating their records.  After a while they said please verify some information.  My employee was not answering yes or no so they broke into the conversation and said you need to say yes or no.  This company calls a couple of times a week and they played me the recording approving the service......only one problem....IT'S FAKE!!!  The conversation that my employee had was with a computer generated voice and the recording is with a live person and there is no mention of "you can only answer yes or no."  According to my employees mother who is an attorney they have broken CA Civil Code 1567 and 1568 since they got the approval through fraud and mistake.  This company is horrible!!!

We got a call from GOAM saying they were just renewing our yellow pages ad, and wanted to verify the info. Same story as others, Now they want to collect on a $459.00 plus interest and penlities, They refuse to give out thier address, and say the publish the American Yellow pages. We pretty much decided not to pay them. Anyone know where they are located?

WE are having the same problem with this company. Do you know if they are located in CA? and could you give us some info on the CA codes that you quoted. We are in MA and trying to find the best line of defense. Thanks for your time

Same story as above......call every want to know my work status.  I continue to demand they take me off their call list, it doesn't happen.  Wish I could sue too.

After several calls from this company, to which I always say "NO, Im not interested.  Take my number out of your system and stop harassing me, this is a business line." they continue to call!  I even told the rep calling that I wanted to speak to a supervisor.  Of course after this they hang up.  However, my story continues.  This company that says, "Hi my name is (fill in the blank).  Im with your local yellow pages and I am calling to confirm that your business listing has the correct information."  is the one of the biggest fraudulent telemarketers I have had the displeasure of being contacted by!!!  They even went so far as to call me after the several "NOOOOOO" conversations to "APOLOGIZE".  They began the call with the most "sincere" apology stating, "First let me say that I can see we have been calling you several times a week after you have requested to have your number removed from our system.  I am truly sorry for that.  What I would like to do now is to help you remove your number so you will no longer get calls from our company."  Which by the way is also a BIG FAKE/SCAM.  In order to remove my telephone number from their system they stated that I had to "VERIFY" my name, age, position with my company, name of the company, address of the company, and that to say "only" yes to questions they were asking, voiced by the rep over a recording that I could detect in the background.  When we got to the question of, "Do you certify/approve for your number to be taken out of our system?"  Just prior to that I thought, "Why the need for all this information which thety obviously already have?" so I started to really listen to the background recording.  Low and behold I heard the words "for an additional charge of $29.99 added to your local telephone bill".  I stopped the rep and told him to be quiet that I could not hear the recording & was not going to answer anything that I could not hear being recorded.  His explanation was that the recording had alot of static & therefore the need for him to voice over.  He played the recording anyway thinking I would not hear the message, but I did.  I was irrate.  I stated how under-handed and void of marals his company was & how dare he try to rob people under the guise of an apology!  Needless to say he hung up.  I immediately informed my corporate office so that other managers would not be duped.  If they call to apologize, beware.

They called my work 7 times in one night. Saying that I took out a payday loan.  Then when I told them they were mistaken, they wouldn't give me any information.  I looked them up the following day (they told me they were calling from Shawn Wood Law Offices out of Brooklyn, NY) and found out they they were not real.  I called them up and told them to stop calling me or they would get me fired from my job.  I told him that I had a good relationship with my boss at this time and I wouldn't get fired as long as I didn't continue to receive these calls.  He then started asking me what kind of GOOD relationship I had with my boss and if my boss had a big d**k.

I work for Psomas, an engineering firm, and daily we are harrassed by "online yellow pages."  This has been ongoing for more than a year now.  We told them, the phone and advertizing have not been handled locally for more than two years, call our corporate office in Los Angeles.  Does not matter, they still call EVERY SINGLE DAY!  We know this must be a scam as we do not advertise with online yellow pages.  It sounds like a call from a call center in India or Pakistan.  Every single person I have received a call from is Indian or Pakistani.
