- TimI got several calls from this same number, so I decided to do a little research to find out what was going on. The call is coming from the WA State Employment Security Department. I found that the phone number is listed on their site >>> http://www.esd.wa.gov/uibenefits/communication/overpayment/repay-benefits.php
At first I thought that it a scam of some sort. But since I found the number on their site it made me feel better about the whole thing. It turned out that someone that had my phone number before I did had received over payment on their unemployment benefits. So they were calling me so that I would log into my account and pay the state back that money. But It wasn't me. All I had to do was call them and tell them what happened, and they removed my phone number from their calling list. If you have no idea why they would be calling you, it's probably the same thing that happened to me!- Caller: WA State Employment Security Department

- AnonymousI've been getting calls from the ESD of WA for about four years literally every single day and its really annoying. Thank you for helping find out what's been going on :)

- KimThis number came up as an unknown caller, it rambled off a message told me to call about my unemployment. Left a number that isn't working.
- GloryI also received a call after hours from unknown caller who left a message saying they were from Wa. Employment Security Department. They left a number to call back, the same number I see everyone else got. When I called the recording said it was ESD collection department. I went online to the ESD to check what was going on since I have not received unemployment benefits for years. I clicked "to make a payment" and saw that I did not owe any money. Anyone can check online just as I did to see if you owe any money instead of calling the number and have someone you don't even know tell you different. Something weird is going on and I am going to call the number given online to make sure the ESD knows.
- GloryI was getting many calls from this number (crackly recorded message to call them and reference an aaron account) I checked the website, called them, and found that the person they were looking for had apparently had my phone number prior to me getting it or had used my number when receiving unemployment benefits. They took my number off their list. It was very quick, no personal info was asked for, and they were polite about it.

- davidtheses people removed money from my account 2 days ago, and i have never even filed for unemployment in my life.
i got this number after money was removed from my account. - davd| 1 replynow i have to take steps to refute this, and who knows how long if ever, it will take this gov agency to admit to their error and give me back my money.
- WolfmanJack replies to davdI guess from the different posts, I am a little confused here. Most of the posts state that this is the Washington State Employment Security Department which is a real entity with a web site located here: http://www.esd.wa.gov/
Now other posts state that this government organization is calling about overdue Aaron Rental Accounts. This is certainly not something that they would do, which makes me believe that someone is claiming to be them in order to extort money from people.
Now one of the questions I would have is how did they get your account information? Did you give it to them? I would question the bank and file a dispute on the charges through your bank and let them investigate. You have a limited time to take advantage of that, I believe it is 60 days.
So my advice would be to initiate at the bank, and also have them let you know who exactly removed the money as they should have a record of that. - Gayle ShounI have not lived here for 20 years. I changed my cell phone number from Oregon to Washington and have been getting these calls ever since. I have not worked in Washington for 20 years. Please Dept of Employment....take me off your call list.
Thank you,

- Laura DavisThis was a number I was told to call in a message from 360 507 9006. Was told it was WA State employment security collections. The first thing they wanted was my social security number. I have never collected unemployment and my employer does not work with them either.
