Keep calling about debt I don't have.

We got several harassing phone calls from this number.  they didn't have our correct name, and they threatened to file a lawsuit against us in Orange County if we didnt' call them back *immediately*.   That's very odd, because (1) we live in Hawaii and not california;  (2) we have no business dealings in california;  (3) we don't owe them (whoever they are) any money.  

When I called back, we get a voice recording saying to leave a message for voice mail box 2001.

Received a call from another number with a female, referring to herself as Amy Knox and asking me if I am going to be home next day. Why? So she can make sure and let the officer know and he can come and serve me papers to go to court. Then she gave me this number 866-714-9690 and a case number and said I needed to call it asap to find out what it was about. I was shocked and stupid me, called the number. A guy announced I owe around 15K on a crediot card, stopped my payments 6 years ago , he was not a collector but was trying to help me and would accept 5K right away to prevent me from going to court. I kept telling him it was nonsense, never had any card like that. He kept "helping" me. when I started asking for details of who, where, how etc. and especially who HE was working for since I needed to get as much details as possible to GO to court to report a fraudulent use of my name, he was sooo busy, had another clients he needed to "help" and hung up on me...

My parents received a phone call with my name saying that the guy was with the Benton County Sheriff's office and that they wanted to confirm that someone over 18 would be there to sign for a summons for me.  My father started asking for more details and eventually they just hung up.  He then called the Benton County Sheriff's office only to find out that these people were impersonating an officer as the sheriff's office has no record of any of this.  I am not sure what this is all about but it is clearly fraudulent.

I just found out this is a front for US Debt Recovery.

949-236-4380 and 866-714-9690 are connected someway. I got a call from a man stating that he had a subpoena to deliver and would we be home? He said the plaintiff was USDR 866-714-9690, I asked when would he serve this subpoena he said the next day. Interesting thing the caller id was our county court house fax number. I'm still learning about spoofing. So I decided to go to the court house and pick the subpeona up that same day. Guess what, the court house never heard of me and neither had the sheriffs office. I'm sure they thought I was a elderly confused person. So they spoofed the caller id and commited fraud. Probably why I haven't received written correspondence from them. As I understand the Fair Debt Collection Act, they have to furnish in writing what you owe and who you owe it to and then you can request debt validation. I have nothing in writing from them, and one other note, I don't owe anyone money.

I have lived in Georgia for 28 years, and someone from this number called my elderly mother in Alabama, who by the way was being helped into the house after having surgery. My sister-n-law answered the phone and a person by the name of "Tony Beretta" was trying to contact me, gave my sister-n-law some case number and the 1-866-714-9690 phone number to call. Once settled, my mother called and said that this person had called. The first thing that came to mind was, hey, wasn't Tony Berretta the name of the main character in the TV show from the 70's called "Berretta" or something along those lines. Since this whole thing was odd, I decided to google the phone number, case #, and name and that's when this popped up. I have not called the number back and I'm not going too since I do not owe anyone anything or recieved any type of letter in the mail. After reading all the post about this number, I would hate for this person or anyone working at this fraudulent business to attempt to take advantage of my elderly mother. Can something be done about this?
I'm appauld at some of the stories I've read on this company or spoofing company. Should I contact the authorities and make a report or try to find out more information?

OMG! These [***] just called me TODAY and threatened to take me to court over a "Credit Card" from over 10yrs ago that I have no clue about! the same "Tony Baretta" at this same phone # 866-714-9690 and his assistant "Allie Reed". He threatened that I was being sued, and would be served. I also mentioned that they needed to supply documentation IN WRITING in order to ask me ANY personal information. From there he turned into an even more harry [***]! So glad I read your comments because this was just another thing stacked on top of my already hectic life! How can we bring them down?

I didnt get a phone call that I know of, but i did get a llitigation letter from Tony Baretta today from that number stating thatI have ignored previous attempts (that I know nothing of) and that he would be taking a 10% additional to my debt of $20k+. This makes no sense to me at all since i have no debt except college loans (for which i'm current in good standing) I check my credit status every year and nothing is on it. I emailed tony back @ tonybaretta@us-debtrecovery.com to tell him that I know nothing of this debt and harrassment would be dealt with legal retaliation.

I received a form letter today from the office US Debt Recovery.stating we have made several
attempts to try to contact you. It proceeds saying they are trying to collect a past due debt.
They will file a judgement against me.Listing several ways about the judgement,

I don't appreciate this type of letter. I have no past due debts.

calling even after i said i was wrong person

Received the same exact letter from this tony baretta person stating I was ignoring attempts for them to contact me but this was the first letter I received.  The letter said there was going to be a lawsuit against me.  I called and made them aware 1 this was the first letter i got and never ignored them, 2 i have no clue what this is about and want documentation sent to me which the refused and 3 I made them aware I am 8 months pregnant.  He still continued to threaten me with sending police to my house and with jail.  My fiancé called back after they hung up and they denied everything they said.  This has to be illegal.  Everyone working at this place belongs in jail.

we received a letter from Baretta Financial stating we owed over $12,000.00 when I called Tony said we paid until 2005.We never paid anyone as with us it is cash or do without. I knew it was a scam. Tony said we could send him money & when we had our hearing if it was found that we didn't owe this we would be refunded. RIGHT. I told him no way I would send money when he couldn't supply me with any info as to who we owed or for what. THIS IS A SCAM & NEEDS TO BE REPORTED to authorities. By the way the NEW phone # on our letter is 855-322-8886. I am contacting local sheriff & am going to check into the fraud at F.B.I.

Received call from Donna Jones works for county process server no # stating I need to contact USDR@855-280-1110 in regards to pending lawsuit in my name to avoid wage garnishment court fees liens against my personnel property.If I do not contact them paperwork will be reforwarded to local sheriffs dept for court filing.
