It was a text with an offer to win a walmart gift card by calling this number.

Text spam saying to call 866 714 9981 for a gift card.

I got a text message  to claim my $100 Walmart gift card, but it came from 646-643-3825.

3rd. time! My text came from 646-322-8424

I called the number to see what the company's name was. Woman with Asian accent answered phone. Said company's name is Bromacleanse, selling weight-loss products. Said I would get gift card by trying product, only needed to pay $3 for s/h.

I'll alert my cell phone carrier, but don't think they can stop the texts.

Unwanted spam phone call from 866-714-9981 with an "offer" to win a $100 gift card from Wal-Mart.  I'm sending the info to Wal-Mart headquarters to alert them.

Basically the same thing, a text saying call this number for $100 gift card.  

I get charged for each text message . . . how can I stop them?

Bob -- you can set your phone to block numbers.

Has anybody tried texting STOP to the number -- does it work?

If you text them back at all your giving them prrof its a valid number and they will send more. about 20 more a day. they text random numbers tilll they gat a hit. a hit is the person that texts back.

I too got a message to call this number for my "free" $100 Wal-Mart gift card.  Needless to say I didn't call them. I too pay for text messages.

I too have been spammed by this organization, using multiple different numbers to send me text messages I have to pay for. All the messages are about claiming Wal Mart certificates. I got through on a phone number provided to someone who said she represented SMS Inc. I told her I had reported these calls to the FCC as spam and asked her to remove my cell number from her company's calling list. She said she would do that. The numbers the texts came from were:

9174438404, 8312954930, 4086676689, 2164825599 and 9173253271

The numbers they asked me to call were; 8667149981, 8778618581, 8774481977, 8668692134

I have reported all these numbers to the FCC via www.fcc.gov

I too received a txt message from a spammer only the number that sent it was 407--729-6815, 426-39, and many others.  You can register your cell number on the National Do Not Call Registry at  1-888-382-1222, keep in mind that you must call from the number you want blocked or to learn more and register via the internet at  https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx.
