Call multiple times never leave a message. Called back and says Bank of America, but I do not trust it.

Calling about an auto loan.  Seems an employee put our business phone as his home and work phone. But they wouldn't tell me who the person is so...at least they maintain privacy!

Keeps calling.  They say they're from Bank of America, give our name, and then we're supposed to press 1.  They are not from Bank of America.  Do not press 1.  !!!

My husband and I got an auto-loan from Bank of America. This same number called us as well. It was a recorded message about our auto-loan being past due. Since we pay AHEAD and pay MORE than what is owed (just to pay it off more quickly but also build our credit), we were concerned about the legitimacy of this call so I did a Google search of the number and found this thread on 800notes.

We decided not to interact with the prompts and call Bank of America directly. They say that since we were transferring money from our main account to the auto-loan account, their app wasn't working properly and didn't update our payment status correctly. We got it all sorted out.

In summation, this was a legitimate message from Bank of America's Auto Loan department and this number is definitely not a scam. However, you can also choose to call BOA directly if you feel you received the message in error.
