- christine| 1 replyMessage on machine from Movie Gallery. Caller ID said tollfree number. So, I hit redial.Recorded message Said that I have movies out. Contact your store. I did and they have no record of me renting movies
- Caller: Movie Gallery?
- Call type: Unwanted
- Me replies to christineThey called me saying I had movies overdue, but I had already returned them. If the people that work at the store don't put them back in their system, its not my fault.
- Dan| 2 repliesThey called my cellphone number in Florida, U.S.A.

- Daniel replies to Dan| 1 replyThey called my phone 2x and I'm in Northern ID. they left a recording and said the same thing about me not returning the movies, I rented? what a load of [***], I never rent movies. I moved here 6 months ago, from SLC. and got a new phone, with a NEW NUMBER one (I said 'ONE') month ago. haven't opened any new movie accounts with this number or opened any new movie accounts, since I moved here, only rented one movie, which I returned to blockbuster and they said I didn't need a new account, my card from my old account (4 years old) from slc would work fine. this is a scam.
Beware all, I believe they are trying to get your credit/debit card info. - Daniel replies to Danieloh I also registered at the 'do not call list registry' on dec 31st. any telemarketer has 1 month, if they call again in feb. im reporting them.
you should all too.

- NathanI have been getting these calls from Movie Gallery for several months (about one a month). I have never been to Movie Gallery and don't even think there is one in my area (MI). As of today I am on the national do not call list. If I continue getting calls from MG, will post a link for a class action against these jokers...

- anne| 1 replyThanks, Ugh! This is very true. My friends have put bogus numbers down... and I always wonder who gets stuck with those calls. (I think its unethical, and wrong, but my friends don't always listen, eh?)
Chill. You can't file a lawsuit against them, anyway, for the most part, since they have your number on file and linked to an account if someone did put a bogus number down, Sorry. Maybe, contact the corporate office (find the ACTUAL number to talk to an actual person) and see if you can't find out if someone put down your number, they should have databases filled with that info. It might take a while to prove that you're not that person, but it will probably stop the calls. - jess replies to anneand, on that note, anne....
this isn't a telemarketing call, so the NDNCL won't help you. they're just reminding you to return movies. not telemarketing. that's different. telemarketing are the people who get your number from a random access database, MG gets your number through either your account info, or someone else's phony account info. they can call you. because you gave them your number. just like creditors. - Movie RenterI do have an account with Movie Gallery and this number is from an automatic dialer to remind people of their past dues. The corporate office that sends out these reminders are delayed sometimes from the local offices so you will get a call sometimes even if they have been returned. Beware too if you have changed your number on their file. They still had my old number from a previous address from FOUR YEARS ago. You can go in sadly and open an account with a false number. So if you do not have an account with them...someone might have an account there with your number on it! Whether it be an expired number or someone just being a horse's rear-end...go to a local MG and ask for assistance. They can point you in the right direction.
This is not 'telemarketing' and would not fall under the Do Not Call.- Caller: Movie Gallery

- Ben| 1 replyI get calls from this number every week or two. I called back to the number and after ringing about a dozen times, it was answered. They identify themselves as "CCF" - a credit collection company, so these calls should be covered by Do Not Call. I have never done business with Movie Gallery, and asked for my number to be removed. The person I talked to claimed she can find no record of my number. She wanted my name, but I would not provide it, since there is no reason for them to need it. She acted very evasive. Something shady going on. Person I talked to said her name is Amy Rowe, and that the company name is CCF - Credit Collection Services. She gave the following mailing address: PO Box 9133, Needham, Ma 02494-9133
I suggest everyone getting calls from them, return the favor. Tie up their phone lines enough, and maybe they'll stop this scam.- Caller: CCF-Credit Collection Svc/Movie Gallery
- Call type: Debt collector
- Ben replies to BenSorry - That should be CCS, not CCF
- -A message left from the movie gallery telling me that I had an outstanding movie however, the movie was returned 3 days prior to the damn call being placed to me.
Movie gallery needs to not ask for crap you don't have!- Caller: The Movie Gallery Automated caller
- Rare movie renterI did rent a movie from Movie Gallery, and I am late returning it. So, sometimes these calls are not bogus. They're the real thing. I'm about to return it now.
- GeorgiaTimestamps are intelligence. Never report until long after
the incident.
Called our cell phone which has a number moved from a land line. No caller ID but got the record of the number.
Vague message implying Movie Gallery is missing one of our checked out movies. Did not give any clue how to get in touch with which store. All our movies are returned. This could be a scam to get the caller ID of the phone to check if the phone connected and active. Will sign petition to require cell phones to block a list of specific telephone numbers but it could be very detrimental to block entire exchanges (the middle three digits plus area code.) In general, we want to be able to block numbers coming from specific jails. If a human answers, tell them to stop calling now and hang up immediately. They must stop if they
are calling from or represent a business. There is a law
and you may to able to sue for a substantial sum depending on circumstances of the call. Look it up. Be informed. - no movie watcherAfter I did not answer call, they left a voice mail with instructions to press Q for details. Hung up, then googled phone number and got the web site. I have never rented movies ever so. I've only had my cell phone number for a year and no one except my family has it.
- Mom of 6My husband rented two movies a couple of months ago. He returned them both at the same time. Lo and behold, they say that only one was returned and one is missing. My husband said he was sure he returned them both the next day after renting them (he had watched them when we were all gone for the evening), because he said that the one missing was not appropriate for the kids to watch(it had alot of violence and language). So, now they are trying to charge us not only late fees, but also for the movie. At our Movie Gallery you set the movies on the counter when you walk in--then if someone walks in after you they can just pick them up off the counter and since the sensor thing that won't let you walk thru with the movies until you rent them is behind you it won't go off and you can just walk out with a movie off the counter. (I hope that makes sense. Yes, I know that is a run on sentence, sorry.) My husband talked to the manager and told her that we didn't have the movie and he wasn't going to pay for it. She said that she would take care of it and if he found it to let her know. My husband said he was sure he wouldn't find it, BUT IF HE DID HE WOULD PAY HER DOUBLE. LOL

- JenI have never received a call from CCS, however I was talking to a mortgage broker to purchase my first home. I can't because my credit score is too low. Why? Because I have a $67 past due balance with CCS. What the hell is Movie Gallery? I have never been there. I have never rented a movie from there. Now I can't buy a house because of them? I will get to the bottom of this.
