This number called me and threatened me with court and jail time.  They said I owed a debt from 2008.  I dont.  They also called my step brother and a old friend to harrass them to get my phone number.
They wont give me anything in writing to show that I 'owe' this debt.  They have called me twice now in two days threatening me.
How do I make them stop?

They left a message at my parents home with a court docket number and about some charges being refiled against me and I will be served. How can you just leave information like that on someone elses machine. If it is that serious why have I not received anything in the mail.

They called me twice today, threatening to sue me and freeze my bank accounts about some debt from 2006. They refused to send me any paperwork and insisted on getting my bank account or credit card to pay the debt because it was a "time sensitive matter". When I refused and insisted they send information on said debt they hung up on me.

Been receiving calls from this number, never answered. My 12 yr old son answered 1 day & some guy named Angelo told my son he is trying to keep me out of jail and help me.  It's interesting the idiot only leaves messages on my son's cell phone that has been active for about a year but mine has been active for 7 years. If I find out who this guy is he will definitely have some explaining to do about how he scared the hell out of my son telling him I was going to jail.

they keep calling my family members and threatening jail time and saying they have an open case number with the courts.
They threaten taking my drivers license and only want to pay over the phone , without supplying any documents or proof that this is a real debt.

They're scammers - more info below.  Debt is civil, not criminal, so no one is going to jail, nor is your driver's license going to be taken away.  Do not take the word of some random caller that they are who they claim to be.  Per the FDCPA, you should NOT pay callers who refuse/can't/won't MAIL a debt validation letter showing you owe a debt and they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation is a violation of federal law.  Only scammers and junk debt buyers refuse to mail proof of debt - because they don't have proof.

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.
