Health Care Office

These people are an outbound call center.  They are not allowed to leave messages on answering machines.  They are Coventry Helath Care; ie: Altius Health Care Insurance co. They are calling to verify your information (if you have signed up with Altius.)

This Number 1-866-744-1882 is from Coventry HealtCare which is an HMO Health Care Plan.

It is NOT for solicitation purposes.  What they are doing is verifying that the person who signed up with their plan did in fact do so and to explain the plan benefits.

I suggested to them that rather than call and hang up when no one answers, is to leave a message saying they are Coventry or to have their company name shown on Caller ID systems.

With all the nuisance calls out there these days, they would be prudent to allow people to see who is calling on their Caller ID's.

You are correct with all your information except for saying who they are should they leave a message.  All they have to do is say they are calling from Coventry or Coventry Health Plan.  There are no restrictions in saying who they are.  However, they are not allowed to verify any information unless that person says they are the one who signed up and then they can ask for various information to prove who the person is.

They have called several times, but there is never anybody on the line.

They called be saying they were some health care company and that they were wanting to talk to someone named Peggy W...definitely not me! No idea how they got my number...
