- StopBadCallsByFightingBack| 1 replyThis is a SCAM call. The recording suggests a collection agency, but it's nothing more than a scam trying to convince you owe an old bad debt. They will ask for your credit card number, your checking account number or another form of money.
They use a Fake Caller ID phone number that is created through the internet with a computer and software. it's called SPOOFING.
The fake phone number on my caller id was 763-515-8174 / (763) 515-8174
The message gave a fictitious business name that sounded like Hoston Financial Services. They claim they represent a client and that you can add your statement to a final demand. All frivolous fake speak.
The recording said my account number with them is 1861824
The recording said to call 866-744-5641 / (866) 744-5641
I pressed zero and got some idiot who didn't identify himself or the company name. First sign of a scammer. I asked for his phone number and extension. He gave 877-686-6473 / (877) 686-6473 Ext 743.- Caller: Hoston Financial Services
- June replies to StopBadCallsByFightingBackThanks for the information. I have a voice mail on my phone asking to call 866-744-5641 for financial report details, and the collection agency's name is Houston Financial Services. The number on my caller id is 276-299-2889. It is obviously a scam.
- chrisIt is a recorded message. Called my job multiple times adn claims i owe a debt with their company. Scam.
- jenniferCalling both my home and cell. Caller id 216-282-0915 a Cleveland number. Never leave message just happen to answer it this time. Called the number back and wouldn't identify himself when he answered. Says my account was placed with Houston Financial Services and wants my statement before filing a final review to my creditor.
- Caller: Houston Financial Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- BDid not get a call from this number but it was mentioned in a robocall I keep getting. The call begins by saying it is "solely for April (can't make out the last name) and goes on about some sort of financial transaction. It also says that if I am not this April person I should disregard the call and hang up. It also gives me the option of talking to an operator (which I don't take as doing so will only let them know they have a working number and result in more robocalls) or suggests that I call this number.
- Texas| 1 replySame message from a representative of Houston financial services. (They mispronounce it "House ton"). claim they will recommend escalating collection efforts if they don't get a statement from me to "include in the file". It's a scam, don't call back. don't press a number to discuss it. I report these calls (3-4 every week now) and then block them as spam. It doesn't do any good to report them to "do not call". I've repeatedly reported to federal and state agencies, even the local police. nothing is done. Some of the phone carriers now charge you to block more than a certain number of phone numbers. T-Mobile doesn't, one reason why I use them. The caller id number is a seattle prefix 206-708-2849.
- ANonieMouse replies to Texas>>> They mispronounce it "House ton" <<<
That's not a mispronunciation -- it's a local variation. It happens that it is the way locals pronounce certain street names in the Atlanta area. See, for example:

That *could* be a clue as to where these calls are actually coming from. In any event, it's worth noting. Good catch, and thanks for the info! - StiniI keep getting this same call everyday but on my caller id it actually says 1(800)GOLDPARTY. WTH? Really?
- Caller: Houston Financial Servicea
- Call type: Debt collector
- AnthonyI've been getting the same calls daily on my cell for months. Will not give name. Very rude! Insistent on giving info to them. DO NOT CALL OR GIVE ANY INFO. THIS IS A SCAM! I spoke with a local layer that agrees, that this is definitely a scam! The number on my caller ID was 276-299-2889, they claim to be Houston Financial Services. Agree with previous post, they do not pronounce Houston the right way!
SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!- Caller: Houston Financial

- L.T.Rec'd call from 480-223-9084, caller id is "Blocked Name", on my cell & work #s today. Robo message identified Halstead Financial Services. Callback# given is: 866-744-5641. They referenced a file number, saying it is being escalated to "our final review department" due to lack of response from the respondent. I have been receiving these calls from about 2 dozen different numbers fro over a year. They hit hard for a month or so, then drop off for 3 or 4 months, then start up again. This is the first time they left a vm at my work#. Annoying more than anything.
- Caller: Halstead Financial Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- DeeHas anyone noticed that you started getting these types of calls after signing up for something on the net? I was getting nothing, signed up for some crap online and now getting bombarded. They are relentless for 3 or 4 days, stop for a month and start again....just curious. It't not just these scammers, there are a ton of them.

- Tamianth replies to J Mesir. It does indeed look as if you have been contacted by a extortion scammer. One that is possibly using a legitimate company's information as well. I have posted the real company's information below in a seperate informational post for all. Always demand debt validation be sent via the US mail.

Tip off FBI about this extortion attempt by filing form at: stips.fbi.gov/ - SteamedReceived call previous to the voicemail - someone called but didn't speak when I answered. Immediately following this, I received the voicemail from 385-205-3023 about a phony debt owed to Houston Financial Services. It told me to call 866-744-5641, which I did. The man who answered had a very unprofessional, street accent that I had a hard time understanding, clipping off the ends of his words, etc. He asked for my phone number, but I tried to give him the file # from the voicemail. After only a few seconds of trying to get me to answer his question, he hung up on me. Only then did I get the bright idea to look up the numbers online.
- Caller: Houston Financial Services
- Creceived a message on home phone; said they were a debt collector referred by their client whom I owed money......the company he said he worked for was constant financial services...checked the company's name...they're legit but the phone number is BOGUS!
- Caller: Constant Financial Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- anon1120Aggressive fraud, poses as debt collector. Told ME my social security number, demanding payment for a credit card I've never had. Became extremely hostile when I told him I'd never had a Discover card.
Have placed their number on block, but they started calling from a new number. All calls have used a recorded message which asks for you to call back a toll free number. When I put the first number on block (a Colorado Springs, CO area code), they called back 2 days later with a Denver area code. Both calls used different toll free call back numbers. I only called them back the first time because it made no sense, the guy gave his name as Randy W. and the company as Halsted Financial Services.
Caller ID: showed "HSF" both times
From 720-452-2338 with return call to 866-744-5641.
From 719-355-8988 with return call to 888-841-7048.
Be careful. These guys had my social security number and a married name I haven't used in nearly 10 years, who knows what else they have or use. DO NOT CALL them.- Caller: HSF or Halsted Financial Services
