I haven't been called from this number, only because they don't have my new phone number. Instead, I've been sent a very bogus-looking letter stating I owe money to a lender I'm sure is part of the scam ring; Access Processing. Because they're contacting me under my former name (though sent to my current address), I believe they've just compiled info about me, from the time when I took out a couple of payday loans in 2010 (all confirmed paid in full) - and now are trying to trick me into thinking I have yet another unpaid load. Has anyone heard of New Britain Financial Services in Munster, IN (no physical address, only a P O Box)? Has anyone been called from 866 744-9318? I will block my caller ID if I decide to bite and give them a call - just to see what they will say.

    Thanks.

I replied to your other post, but in case you didn't see it, I will put it here also.  And yes you are right, payday loan companies routinely sell information to criminal debt collectors.
First, calling an 800 number and trying to block your number doesn't work.  they are paying for the call so they get to see your ID.
Now as to the rest of your post, The website was created January 15, 2015.  Not much information on it.  I don't see a registration for that company either, which would be required for it to legally conduct business.  My guess is that this is a new rogue DC.  If you received a letter from them then it has to contain the following, and I would send them a dispute letter by certified, return receipt mail:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Did the letter contain everything i said it should as required by law.  Obviously no address which is a huge red flag, how are you supposed to pay them?  Did it contain the 30 day debt dispute portion?  Even if it did, again, how would you mail it to them which is a requirement to maintain your rights in this matter.
Please make sure you file a report at both the provided links.

My husband passed away one year ago and I called New Britain to let them know of his death I told them I would send out a copy of his birth certificate and they told me there was no need. They were able to verify through their system and nothing else was required. With funeral costs and now being a widow it hasn't been easy. I am thankful for their quick resolution.

Not going to lie, but I was scared to call but I knew that avoiding the problem was not going to make it go away. All I can say now is that I am Relieved!!  Only income I have coming is through my SS Benefits. They were able to work with me and help me to pay off a credit card debt I incurred a couple of years ago. They helped me save money.

Why do happy campers - people who are very happy with the phone results - search a phone complaint site for info on those numbers?

Usually, such posts are made by shills for the caller.

I rec'd phone calls from them.  They could not provide proof of the debt (from 2006) but they threatened to report it to the credit bureau.   They told me they would just go away for $400.  I filed a complaint (150916-000982) with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and told New Britian that I did so.   The calls stopped and nothing has shown up on my credit report.

If they can prove I owe the $.  I'll pay it.  They cannot prove anything because it's a  scam.

Received a call letter from these guys.  When I called they could not give me the name of the bank the funds were supposedly deposited in.   They say the loan was taken out in May 2008.  I have been with my bank since 2007.  I asked for the supervisor and he was unprofessional, saying things like 135 bucks and was yelling at me because I refused to give the name of my attorney.  I hung up and he proceeded to yell at me then he hung up on me.  If this is a call center, why do I keep getting the same rep?  They said that this is on my credit and it is not I monitor my credit monthly.

Got a letter in the mail from them yesterday regarding an old credit card debt.  Decided to call them back because we had our bankruptcy discharged in September.  I've been getting calls from so many scammers lately that I figured this was the same.  I told them I filed bankruptcy and gave them my attorney's info and they told me that they would close it out.  We'll see what ACTUALLY happens but at least they didn't threaten me like the usual scam artists do...lol

I didn't receive a call but i did get a letter from new britian financial services, telling me that i owe an unpayed amount. So i called them and they told me that it was for a mastercard, but i had recently had a credit report done, and it said the only mastercard i had was payed off.  They said that the client id# was the account number but it doesn't match any numbers that i have, and they couldn't give me any other info. proving that i owe this money or any correct account #'s. I found out that there web site was made in January 2015 and that they do not have a registration for legally running there business, and that they r not registered with the bbb either. When i called them on the second day to get correct info. The lady said that there was noone in the office due to weather, but for my job i always check the weather and there was no bad weather in Indiana, so i asked why since there was no bad weather there, she would not answer my question and then put me on hold. So i hung up and then called back and there was a busy tone ( at a collection agency?) Two minutes later i got a call back from a them, and i asked him that the lady said there was noone there due to bad weather and that she was the only one there, so how can he be calling me back? He said he doesn't know what was said, he only knows that he got a sticky note with my name and number and that i hung up. So i really think this sounds like a fraud, since they r not very professional, and no correct information was given to me, so i contacted the consumers financial protection bureau#151230-000498.

Beware these guys are pure scammers! This is a fraudulent business that is trying to scare people into paying bogus debts or zombie debts that were already settled. These guys are scammers. Do not believe a word they say! I know for a fact they are scammers and my lawyer is going after them because what they are doing is illegal.

These guys are crooks and Con Artists. They move around from place to place and use different P.O. Boxes to evade detection and being sued for fraudulent activity. They get very rich off scaring people into paying bogus debts. Do not contact them or talk to them. They have no power and everything they say is pure lies.

My letter was addressed only to my first name. No last name at all.  No physical address for the company. The account number is wrong. I monitor my credit report and I would know if I was behind. There is no information at the bottom of letter saying I had 30 days to dispute the charges. Fake all the way. The letter looked like it had been cheaply copied with their name and logo and must have been copied over and over to add other people's names and addresses and load only the info needed to make it look real. I will be reporting this to the attorney general. I hope others are song the same.  I feel bad for others that may not be able to tell and fall for this scam.
