The caller claimed to be from Blue Cross Blue Shield and it was a "health reminder" for our 8 year old daughter who had a check-up in the last 6 months.   They called twice, the first time it went to the machine and they asked for us to return the call using a 7 digit pin number.  They repeated their number at least 3 times and said that if we did not call back they would call us again.  We have had Blue Cross Blue Shield for years and have never received a "health reminder" before.

Seems like just another nuisance call.

Got the same message claiming they were Blue Cross Blue Shield with a health reminder. I have MNCare insurance which BCBS is my carrier, but in the past I've never received calls from BCBS. Thinking its spam.

I returned the call and entered the code number. It IS BCBS and was simply a reminder to make regular dental visits- to prevent more serious problems. Obviously, preventative care costs them a lot less money than the serious issues that arise from neglect. They are trying to save money. Everyone can stop hiding under the sheets now.

And then your immediate thought was to look up the number to see what others reported it as?  Do you do that for all your calls?

Such insurer-initiated calls are suspect in my opinion.

If you have any questions about the validity of a call, contact the number on the back of your insurance ID card.

This "Blue Cross" scam group (which I'm assuming it is),  also calsg from 877-212-8327 800notes with the same type of message and leaving a pin-type code for call back.  Same for 855-969-3379.

This is most likely a scam of some sort to get personal information.

Again do not return the calls.  Call your insurance group from the number on the back of your ID
card and report the number.

Odd.  Most posters , show up here to report either a scam, or an attempted scam.
But in your case, everything went just fine.  Good call.  Totally legitimate.

My husband has received multiple of these "reminder calls" in the past week. Our health insurance was canceled last week so there is no reason for them to call us. How do you get it to stop?
