    Just got a call from the same number. Said i was being sued by a credit card company. Now they did have the last 4#s of my ss number but what they did not know is that account was knock out in a bankruptcy over 13 years ago.Its just a collection scam, if they could get me to pay 1 dollar it would cause the account to be reopened so never pay on something that was done away with a bankruptcy.

    I also received a call from this number, at work which is illegal for a debt collector to contact you at work.  I did have some dismissed debt from several years ago and they every now and then try to collect on it from a third party who probably purchased the debt for pennies on the dollar.  And, David is correct.....  If you pay any amount towards the debt you are accepting responsibility to repay the debt in full.  Hope this helps!

    Just got off the phone with John Westmore.  Said he was calling from Quincy & Barnes out of Diamond Bar, Ca.  Said I owed a debt and a civil complaint had been issued against me for $1,243.15 on an old debt.  He said they had sent me a letter dated Jan. 9, 2017, which I have never received, offering me a settlement or a payment plan.  I told him to resend the letter and me and my attorney would have a look at it.  He put me on hold, came back, saying that they would be sending me out another letter, but will put on their paperwork that I was non-compliant and I could be served by a process server and that if I was, to be sure to show up in court.   This guy had called me before from 1-866-751-8647 number.  Actually, he called my sister and asked for me.  He called again today from 866-353-3589.  I had looked up the first number and read all of your postings about him and his bogus claims, so I already knew what to expect.  I'm not sending him any money nor am I giving out any of my credit information.   They have just enough information to make it appear that they are legit and are trying to get money from you.   Don't fall for it.

    John Westmore.......Quincey & Barnes..... is a total fraud. I've recieved calls from 4 different numbers from John Westmore. I did some research, and there is no Quincey & Barnes firm at the address given by Westmore. Also, none of the businesses in the general vicinity have ever heard of John Westmore, or Quincey and Barnes. Don't drink the cool aid. This is a total scam.

    Got a message from "Quincy & Barnes" (nonexistent company as far as my research can tell) stating I owe U.S. Bank money & I will be sent to Collections if I do not pay immediately. ($892.00 overdraft fee + $1936.00 processing fee + $ $2728.00 legal fees)
    Somehow, they had my phone#, last 4 of my SSN, and my previous address (from almost 10 years ago) - so they sounded legit.
    Problem, though: 1. They claim the "overdraft fee" was from 2007. (Why would US Bank wait 10 full years to collect?) 2. I have never banked with U.S. Bank (or any banks they may have acquired throughout the years).
    I called U.S. Bank & was told DO NOT respond to these people & DO NOT send them any money.
    I actually played along with Mr. "Don Smith" when I called them back & asked "where can I mail the check?" He said he would email me a Well's Fargo account# and I could wire the money directly to him. When I receive that information, I will go to Wells (which is my current bank) and inform them of these scammers.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
    Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    My husband just received a call from "Quincy and Barnes" Litigation Firm #855-556-2437 and spoke with a guy named Don Smitze. This guy proceeded to inform us that they have made several attempts to collect a debt on a credit card issued in 2006. We were confused bc we filed BK in 2009 and this acct was included. He had explanations for EVERYTHING, and basically informed us that we were going to court for "defrauding a loan" or we could settle today for $1161.46. The total amount of loan he gave us was $2833.26 and "court fees" $$2750! He made it seem like we were scheduled to appear in court this week, he also mentioned the money would be wired not mailed, he gave us an address and business name that did not come up through our research ( 1370 Valley Vista Ste 200 Diamond Bar California). How can this place get reported? Who do we call? I'm so upset, however I'm thankful for not falling for this scam!
