ROBOCALL stating to call back or legal proceeding would start?

Machine voice recording - called impersonating an officer - stated "she" was with the SSA and that my account with them was in question, threatening immediate legal action

Did not recognize the number so let it go to voice mail.  It was a robotic voice saying they had my social security number and I needed to contact them immediately to avoid legal action against me.

Robocall, stating to call back or legal action would be taken. I called back and it seemed to be a call center from a another country. The individual said he was a representative/officer for S.S. office and he proceeded to try to get my info. I immediately questioned his credentials and reasoning behind the call. He hung up.....

I got the exact same call. Since the phone companies won't/can't do anything about it, our super useful government needs to take care of this issue. These calls are getting ridiculous.
