Tired of them calling wrong number replies to Kate
Call them back and ask to speak to the Collections Manager tell them that you have requested your number removed several times and this will be your final request.  Verify their address (TCS website is http://torrescredit.com/Index.html)  with that person and state that according to the under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA you are entitled to file a lawsuit and collect up to $500 per call.   Do not give them any of your personal information.  If they ask again state that you are under no obligation under the law to do so, and that any coorespondence will be handled from "this call" on by your attorney.   Again ask them to verify the address and if there is a legal department (separate address).

After that log each call, keep copies of your bills showing their number and contact an attorney.  Hopefully the threat enough will get them to leave you alone.  if not...$500 per call (and if you are in our boat they were calling several times a week)  you can't beat.
    Good luck

This company name is TCS, Torres Credit Services. I got a call, missed it, and they left a blank voicemail. This claim is over Direct Energy for a bill from Houston. The agents are very rude and unwelcome. I have complained to Direct Energy about their choice of companies.

    Not A Debtor
Number belongs to Torres Credit services in PA. It is a computerized calling center calling debtors.
Received call on my cell, they did not leave a message. Called them back to advise them that the number they called is a recycled AT&T number, the person they are looking for has not had this number for at least 3 years. They were polite and stated they would remove the number from their list. I'm skeptical that they will, as another collection agency had this number and it took 6 months to get them to stop calling. We'll see.

They keep calling me for an Ameren MIssouri bill that is NOT mine. However, I do know who did it. My ex and his girlfriend are doing it. I have done everything but go to Missouri and beat it out of them for the damn company. I gave them his name, phone number, and all. Oh no they say it is my bill, even though I have lived in New York all this time.  I am not sure why I have to jump through hoops to prove it was not me when they should be the ones to prove it was me. Damn make people come in and give you a photo ID. It was a freaking apartment that was NOT rented to me.  I am sick of jumping through hoops to try to prove that I do not owe them. It is total BS for me to have to run around in snow and ice being disabled to prove that the Ameren people in Missouri and TCS are too ignorant to figure out they screwed up.

In my case it was indeed TCS collecting a ComEd bill from my deceased father. Legitimate call, except for the deceased part.

Josh called earlier at a phone number that I have NEVER used, however is a relation through a marriage of mine... This seems like a SCAM to me, I even provided the number that they called at when asked to, and they gave a name of an individual who has NEVER resided here. They did however know my name, and addressed the anwserer of the phone in an extremely unprofessional manner. I have NEVER been late on any bills, and any money owed to me I personally oversee that it is addressed. I asked the person who i contacted (different than this Josh who had called) what type of business they are, and what matters they would oversee, and they had mentioned it is illegal for them to tell me such. I hold one of the highest security clearances possible in america, and can guarantee that other than local jurisdictions or state law preventing them from doing such, they would be able to inform me of any matters concerning myself... ITS 100% a SCAM, i urge people to NOT RESPOND TO ANY FORMS OF ATTEMPTED COMMUNICATION.

Let's see. An anonymous person calls and asks for someone specific. But refuses to identify themselves to the person who answers the call unless the receiver of the call identifies themselves first as the person the caller is requesting.  Does this sound stupid to anyone else?
Sounds like either the law is BS or the person who insults other people for his ego's sake is a collector.
Don't take it so personal when someone contradicts you.

This is a scam, because I no longer live at the number they called and have transferred all of my information including debts I owe to a new number.  I also do not give out the number that they called on and am in no way shape or form behind on my electricity bills.  I live in a campus housing and my electricity bills are included through that, these people are definitely scamming someone for some type of information.  JUST FYI!

They are a collection agency, which means any company might have hired them. If you don't have any outstanding debt, you should find out what they think they have on you because someone might have stolen your identity, opened an account (credit card, cell phone, utility etc), charged it up and left it on you. It's a lot of work, but if you don't clean it up you have to live with it.

This number calls me several times a week, usually while I'm at work.  They messages they leave always sound like a pocket dial, just white noise with no talking.  Its obviously a business number, but why don't they ever identify themselves or ask for a call-back?

calls very early in the morning, last wk I answered & had a not so pleasant person on the phone & today white noise no, talking ... the call seems to be the same time each wk. talked w/ someone last wk & found out it was a prob. I had yrs ago that I was told wast taken care of or I would turn them in for harassment ... the calls just started again w/ a problem that was 3 or 4 yrs when I received a choose books & you have 30days to cancel the membership - I returned the books & told them to cancel &  take me off the mailing list...but still each month I would receive a book & returned it saying 'return to sender - never ordered' ... one time I felt bad, maybe I did something wrong & paid an invoice, then realized, there was nothing to pay for ... and now the annoying harassment calls have started up again.

    Irritated
Has called more than 10 times with in the past two weeks. when I answered the call a man came on the phone. No name given and no company name given either. He had asked to speak with so and so. I clear stated you have the wrong number and please remove this number from your database due to it being unlisted. I asked how they received my number and was responded with "that is for us to know". This person I was speaking with did not take the fact that I was not the person he was calling for. He continued - this is so and so I am speaking with isn't it. No matter how many times I said no he still didn't believe me, so I had hung up. Since then, this number has been calling at least once or twice a day and will not leave a message.

    Tired Of Harrassment!
These 2 #'s 866-756-6801 and 866-756-6803 call my cell phone very often. 866-756-6803 calls more than the other one but everytime before when I answered I always got breathing and papers being shuffled in the background. Tonight they called me at 8:20 pm the lady asked for some Justin guy I told her she had the wrong # then she proceeded to be very rude to me. They call me again I am taking it to the police department. I do not deserve to be harrassed by them every day!!!!

And by the way, I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, so if they don't leave something on the voice-mail telling me what's up guess they got a lot more calls ahead of them!
