- anon| 8 repliesTHIS IS DEFINITELY A FRAUD OPERATION. Recvd text w a phone # and a link to pay a "medical bill" for services w a facility I never heard of. Called the number, they answer as Physicians Billing Office. When you ask any information about them, they say they can't tell you anything (except that they are a national operation) because of federal law, then want personal identification about you so that they can handle your bill payment. Might be a new operation, since I see no other complaints. BEWARE, they are very, very "sweet" and "just want to help you w this bill".

- Disgusted| 1 replyReceived call from this company I had never heard of before saying they had made numerous attempts to reach me about unpaid bills and if I didn't return the call they would turn it over to an collection agency. I have not received any letters nor calls from any medical doctor or facility saying I had an unpaid bill. I immediately suspicioned this was an elaborate scam. The company and recording sounds very professional and legitimate. As I said it is a company I have never heard of.

- AllenThey called my cell. Claimed I owed a bill for medical services. yeah, sure, at least they aren't claiming to be from the microsoft anymore. I don't believe this computer generated call is legit, and I doubt their website is legit either. It's veeeeery convenient that they don't have to prove anything to you, but expect you to give them money on nothing but their say so.

- AmberJust received same text...I googled the phone number and it's also the phone number for a truck and boating company in Nebraska on their Facebook

- BobDefinitely a scam. Whenever I get these types of calls, I call them and play the game. I tell them I don't have any credit cards and need their address to send them a check. Then they hang up. They always do, and so did this one.

- ~Michaelf| 3 repliesThis phone number appears on a medical bill I received on 2018-09-09, purportedly mailed from Cogent Medical Care, PO Box 743522, Los Angeles, CA, 90074-3522, which also includes a Sound Physicians logo. They are billing for medical services they said occurred 1 month ago, which never happened. On the bill there is no personal information, no insurance information which I have. The only item that is accurate is my name and address. Now, I just received an apparent collection notice purportedly from Online Information Services, PO Box 1489, winterville NC, 28590-1489, which does seem a legitimate service, but the phone number on the collection notice, (866) 205 5956, doesn't match any on their website. I think it's all a sophisticated scam, and am not buying into it.
- ~Michaelf replies to ~Michaelf| 2 repliesSo this is actually a legitimate billing company and collection agency. The problem is that I had no medical services performed. They are trying the clear the matter now.
- BigA replies to ~MichaelfLet's see, they are trying to get you to pay a bill you don't owe and you think that this is "legitimate"?
- BigAFor those of you who realize that this is criminal organization trying to extort money from people:
If you want to learn how to make the calls stop, if you would like to know what agencies to report them to, and if you would like to know how to make them pay you for the harassment, please read my post here: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-765-5794/4#p1298968895765020324 - NicoleReceived several voicemails from this number. It is a fraud! During the automated service you’re offered to make payments through a text messaging service which is an additional charge for data. I chose this option and gave a different number for them to text, their own. Hope they get many data fees.

- GregI received a text on my cell phone from them this morning. The message said I owed a bill and to call this number and make arrangements to pay this bill for which they gave no information.
The message also said I could text them back and they would send me a written bill. I'm assuming if I texted them back I'd really be sorry.
I was in the hospital for several days a month ago and not long after that I got a spam phone call from an outfit which said they knew I'd been in the hospital and said they wanted to sell me some such thing. I'm beginning to think that somehow someone in the hospital gave out my information. So much for that BS the government feeds us about electronic records being kept private. - Brad| 9 repliesI found out the hard way this is an actual physician billing service. I was in the hospital late last year, and I randomly got a bill from this company with no information and no contact info. I tried googling them and found nothing, so I ignored it. I figured any legit billing would bill my health insurance, just like all my other Bill's had been.
Last month, I went to refinance my mortgage, and I had 4 collection accounts on my credit. The collection agency could give me no information, nor did they have any info online. After contacting an attorney and getting contact info, I spoke with them yesterday. They said all they were missing was my insurance info and so they submitted it once I gave it to them. The problem is I'm now out about $70,000 that I would have saved by refinancing my mortgage and my credit still shows the collection accounts.
Companies like this are scum.- Caller: Physicians Billing Office
- Call type: Debt collector
- Tygerkat replies to Brad| 2 repliesYour story has a lot of holes, the biggest one being the name of this alleged debt collector. See, if your attorney got you the "contact info", that would have been part of it. Certainly your attorney didn't tell you to just call and pay some random company, right?
