- Gunnar replies to Brad| 5 repliesNo "Brad", the problem here is that you're full of it! You're a Troll or a Shill.
We see your kind every day. You post a bunch of drivel, unaware that intelligent people can spot you for a liar a mile away. You never supply anything verifiable &, when asked for something, you can't produce it. Not an address, not even a legitimate name for this outfit. An outfit, that you say, appears on your credit report. You say that you have their contact info. POST IT! You won't post a legitimate THING!
Outfits like this ARE Scum! As are YOU!
Skeff Ett Liv!
Gunnar - Brad replies to Gunnar| 4 repliesWhat? What are you asking for? Are you saying I'm a shill for the company I just called scum?
The internet is weird.
The company that billed me was called Critical Care Physicians LLC. Their number is the one associated with this thread. - MikeHuntleton replies to Brad| 3 repliesWell if you read what everyone else said, its a SCAM, that they were billed for services they never received.
Now your saying they aren't scammers, just scumy business practices...NOT the same thing! Saying that they are correct in contacting you about a debt because...and I quote you..."They said all they were missing was my insurance info".
Sticking up for them as being legitimate when others report its a scam, makes you a shill for them. You also said it was "Physicians Billing Office" as the caller, but now say its "Critical Care Physicians LLC" that billed you. Those are 2 different companies, one is in Calif, the other is in Illinois. Just generic names?...... no address or website? - Brad replies to MikeHuntleton| 2 repliesThat's not "sticking up for them." It's semantics. Define "legitimate." If they're able to put crap on your credit report and they have actual bills for you, they're "legitimate", though no less scummy. They are a third party billing company for medical services, though I'm still not quite sure what the point of them is if they just send everything to collections. The company that performed work on me was named "Critical Care Physicians of Illinois, LLC." The company that they contracted out to and who sent my bill to collections is actually called "Sound Physicians." Their phone number calls themselves Physicians Billing. Anyway, Sound Physicians has a website here:
https://soundphysicians.com/
The website certainly looks like a scam, and their terrible attempts to contact me (and others, it sounds like) also feel like a scam, but the bills were legit - it is amazing to me that this type of thing is legal.
They are awful. I have filed complaints against them with the BBB, the State's Attorney in both IL and CA, and the Federal Consumer Protection Agency. What they have done to me should not happen to anyone else. Their info:
Sound Physicians
PO Box 743552
Los Angeles, CA 90074
Now, you people on the internet can either take this information and use it if you see fit, or you can continue to cry and whine on the internet and call people "shills" for offering you basic information. I know your type - everything in life is someone else's fault. In this case, you're probably correct, but you're so hate-filled and impulsive that you are literally calling a guy who is trying to stop them from future abuse a "shill" of theirs. Get a grip. - Resident47 replies to Brad} Define "legitimate"
The primary meanings are legal compliance and comportment with accepted practice. Many times the term is misused in complaint venues as an emotional argument to distract everyone from a given company's bad behavior. Other times it's misused in the sense of a commentor lacking precision while treading gray areas.
Billing or dunning which doesn't make it easy for you to make an informed choice, or outright hides the details you most need, is simply unfair. It's entirely possible for you to agree with a stated amount or recognize some rendered service, while the manner of its delivery is fatally flawed by a "UDAP" standard. Fairness in commerce is a right protected by several state and Federal laws, which don't want you misled into paying swindlers. Until those problems are removed, it's probably better to regard the collection account as a "plausible" claim.
If it was me, I'd want some clarity and to line up the collector's conduct against the FDCPA, FCRA, et al. Medical billing in the US is insane enough without some outfit playing name games or silently parking bad credit tradelines to set a trap. I'd be concerned that you were waved away with the "oops, my bad" failure to submit an insurance claim, the "want of a nail" problem which for all you know was intentional. If as you say the fallout cost you several digits that you can quantify, the other term for that is "actual damages" due to you in a lawsuit. - Tygerkat replies to BradWell, you certainly didn't offer "basic information" in your first post, which is why you were questioned on it. You rambled on about getting a bill with no identifying information on it then went on to say a lawyer miraculously found their name for you - but failed to give it!
- Do Not Call ListA robo-call recording claiming the person answering the phone owes money. We never heard of the company the recording speaks about. It's a scam.

- KathieThis number 866-765-0513 called for my son who had been in the hospital but later passed away. They said he owed $5,000 & wanted to make payment arrangements. When I said he had passed away they asked that I send a death certificate. I'm glad I checked this number out. It seems anymore we have to check every number that calls us for scammers.
- Call type: Debt collector
- elsaReceived this call for the 2nd time, and they called me by my son's name. The CID said "Toll-Free Call" but the recording said "Sound Physicians." When they said I could pay a debt online or it would be sent to collections, I hung up.

- FranI have received a text from this number saying I had a balance on my account, and I had been in hospital earlier this year, but I had never received a Bill from the hospital and my health insurance broke down how much I would owe. I talked to my husband bout this text and he told me not to open it and to look at my credit report. I figure this could be a scam and I am glad I didn't call them or open the link after reading all the comments on this number. Thank you all for sharing your comments !! So everyone be cautious! If you owe, call the Billing office and talk with them before you get caught up with this scam !!

- DeeThey are back! Sound legit, talked to a woman asking for my name and dob to look up account information. Should have known it was a scam! Told her that they had me confused with someone else. I asked her what service and where this happened, when, etc. gave me a date of last year, and hospital name like Providence Memorial. Address with no known location/zip. Said they were not given a zip or location-ugh...sucks. Then again said I didn’t know and she told me it would take 30 days for them to evaluate the bill and I would be contacted. In hindsight, too many suspicious comments that didn’t match up. How does one protect themselves from this? I can report them, but to whom? I see a lot of comments were 2 years ago...so did they stop and now have started again? Praying on the COVID pandemic fear? Thoughts?
