Got call from 904-954-1207 FL and said my SSN and some other informations was used to open an account in CITI Bank. Then he gave me a Identity theft collection service number 866-668-5747 to file a report. I called a citi bank number 888-248-4226 and a guy named Raman give another Identity theft number 866-771-3354. All these number listed are fraud numbers.

Caller from 904-954-1207 left message that they were from Citibank fraud dept. That a Home Depot card was opened in my name. When I called them back, they wanted a card # or SS#. Since I don't have a Home Depot credit card and refused to give my SS#, they "looked" it up by my name. Said there was no activity and to call 866-771-3354 to "further the process of cancelling". Called 866-771-3354 and they tried to have me sign up for a free 7 year fraud protection. It would take up to 20 minutes to complete. It was a this point that my belief the whole thing is a scam became solidified.

You sure about that?  Posts indicate that this is a possible phishing scam.

    - Thank the caller, take down the reason for call.
    - Call Citibank (or whoever) using the number on the back of your card.

-Wow, I just had the same happen to me, on the SAME date too!  Experian told me I had to dispute with Citi personally.  I finally reached a good contact # for Citi 888-201-4523.  They took care of the dispute as Fraudulent activity and removed the inquiry.

I received a text about my citi account being locked but I don't have citi. I clicked on the link and it took me to the citi website and I called the number on the site 18003749700, he asked for my name and social which I gave him. He told me he saw an account and directed me to call fraud protection 8664933599. She said she didn't see any account but again asked for my name and social which I provided. She gave me another number to call to set up fraud protection. I keep searching to see if the numbers are fraud. I don't know what they can do with my name and social. I also don't know who to call.  At this point I have decided not to contact anyone and to just leave it alone?

You don't have an account at Citi yet you clicked the link and then gave them your name & SS#?  Then you said

Seriously?  You think ignoring this will make everything OK?  I would suggest that you go to the FTC website on identity theft and follow those instructions.  In the alternative you could hope and pray that nothing happens.  Which do you think might be the better choice?
