Anna Fost keeps calling my work wanting to give me a bill.  She is now calling my boss and leaving this same debt information on her phone.  I believe this is illegal.  How do I get her to stop harrassing me at work?

This is completely illegal.  They get away with it by claiming that a locator service is actually the one calling you and leaving a phone # to call back.  Then when you call that #, they claim to be a pre-litigation company willing to help you before charges are presented against you.  They talk in circles and refuse to give out a mailing address for their own company.  Do not make any payment arrangements with them.  They refuse to give out a mailing address because they know what they are doing is illegal and if they have a physical address they are easier to find and sue.  For each offense or illegal debt collection practice, they could be fined up to $1500.  Unfortunately it is difficult to get the phone calls to stop and it can be embarrassing when they call your co-workers.

First of all, let your manager and HR Dept know that you're being harassed (probably by a scammer).  Secondly, it is illegal to try to embarrass people into paying a debt by discussing that alleged debt with anyone other than you - this is another violation of the FDCPA (the first is her harassing you).  If "Anna Fost" refuses to MAIL you documentation (do not accept anything emailed or faxed) - you can tell her that per the FDCPA, you owe her nothing.  Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  

When "Anna" calls again, let her know that you are recording all calls she makes to you on the advice of your attorney (doesn't matter if you have one or not).  Tell her you will be filing your own lawsuit against her for multiple violations of the FDCPA.  And it actually would be a good idea to record all calls she makes to you - more evidence in your corner re. being harassed, and other FDCPA violations.

This number has been repeatedly calling me and my place of employment. Threatened to serve court papers at my job,if I dont give them a correct address to. If u have all my info u should have my address...right??
