robo call claiming 50% off my ATT and Direct TV-thought is sounded like a scam and googled the number! It is!

DirecTV Scam. Why hasn’t anyone stopped this? I’ve been getting these calls since March from multiple numbers.

How can you offer a discount on my "Existing Account" that doesn't exist???

On the other hand, if I don't have an account to discount will they give me cash instead?

Same as all the other comments. Recorded message offering 1/2 off ATT/Direct TV.  I suspect a scam. They NEVER call to offer you a savings!

1-833-533-4683 called and said they were from AT&T. They said. “Hi there I’m calling you from AT&T-Directv to let you know that your existing account is qualified for 50% off. In order to unveil the discount kindly call us back at 866-787-0107 from 8am until 9m pm pacific standard time. Thank you and have great day.”

Same as all the other prior comments regarding a 50% discount for my existing AT&T Direct TV account (I do not have an account).  Scam triggers include "kindly" call 866-787-0107 and other wording with no name of the caller given.   The main difference is that they called my cell TWICE within minutes with the same exact message each time. I did not record the numbers that the calls came from.  I am sure they were not valid numbers as most of the preceding comments all had different origin numbers.

I received a call from 844-807-6514 but did not pick up.  The caller left a voicemail claiming to be from AT&T Direct TV, telling me my existing account qualified for a 50% discount, and to call 866-787-0107 to claim my discount.  Since I am not an AT&T customer (I think I hate AT&T more than any other company on earth besides fossil fuel and chemical companies), I knew it was a scam.  I reported it to the FTC.

I called, but suspected a scam. IT IS !!!!!!! You know it's a scam when they request information they should already have.

Beware! Scams!! Same as above. Claim 50% off bill going forward but need to pay 5 months up front. Figured it was a scam and hung up.

They called me offering 50% off my DirecTV/ AT&T bill. I called back. I was suspicious, but then he offered free Showtime for a year. I said sure! Turn it on, expecting him to back out. Well, he turned it on! So now I'm wondering if it's legit. Before we hung up he said eBay was covering the costs of the promotion so we had to pay for the first 6 months upfront using eBay prepaid cards bought from Target, Walgreens, Rite-Aid etc. I hung up and called DirecTV immediately. Somehow they made changes to my account. I believe they have someone inside DirecTV that's helping run the scam. They were able to add Showtime onto my bill with just my name and phone number in a matter of 2 minutes while I waited on the line.
