Same to me...all of the info he gave me was out of date and erroneous. He said he had my address I said great then mail me the info...and he said he would email it to me...I said that was not valid and he argued it was...I gave him no choice and said male it or meet me in court and hung up. Scammers looking up old out of date records...be careful. By law they have to send you by mail if you request it the name of the company the date of debt and the amount.  Don't believe they tried to serve you a summons...they do not call you if they are trying to reach you. Three attempts and that's it...He had an address from 13 yrs ago on file...believe me your local county court system knows your current address.

They have called twice within the last few months. Saying a serious matter please call the firm handling your case. I know if it was something serious they would have sent a certified letter and not have called private.

Heads up that these folks also called three of my immediate family members and referenced my name. So you may want to contact your family and let them know they shouldn't give out any info.

I had call from this number  about a debt that I owe but had extra fees attached to it that were 5 times the debt.  Called me names and yelling at me. I cannot remember the mans name but I know this is against the law.  I will pay the amount owed but no more.

Most likely you don't even owe the debt.  Well known debt collection scam.  Don't pay them one red cent until they validate the debt after you have send them a validation letter, and certainly not until they at least send this:

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

They called my house, using a caller ID of "unknown name/unknown number". Lady on the phone gave my husband a file number, and this phone number (866-800-0738) to call back. He gave me the info, and as soon as I called, the 'answering service' answered with the name of "Corporate Towers". Then, proceeded to ask me to hold, and connected me to Quaid Bradley & Associates. I immediately looked up the business name on the Internet, and found no such name attached to the given phone number. I told them that I was calling as my husband's representative, and they put me on hold, telling me that they had to pull his file. They asked me for his birth date, and the last 2 numbers of his SS #. I gave those to him (for anyone who doesn't know, both a date of birth, is public information, and there's nothing they can get from the last 2 digits of a SS#). He put me on hold. The name he gave me was John Philips. What he doesn't know is that my husband is a former Law Enforcement Officer, and still works with members of our local Sheriff's office, as well as our CHP officers. I never let on that this was the case with my husband. In fact, when he told me that this was in reference to an address my husband lived at over 20 years ago, I knew it was bullsh*t. Then, he said that it was pertaining to a class action law suit against my husband. Before he could finish I told him it was bull. He got angry with me, started talking in a threatening tone to me, and then asked me my name (I gave him my maiden name - which I have not used since 1986). He then told me that he would use that information as well, when his company brought us to court together. Then, when I began to ask him for more information, he hung up on me. I called the Sheriff's dept, and notified them of what happened.

I received a threatening message from someone calling from a blocked number. The person the call was regarding is someone I don't even know but just the message and tone was weird. I called the number back and woman answered "corporate towers," which confirmed to me something shady was going on. I told them there was no one by this persons name at my number and the woman was polite and said they would remove my number.  I hope they don't track that person down and con her!

This just happened to my husband.  I called back to talk to them and spoke to John Phillips.  He said we were being sued for a credit card bill with a company that we have never even had a credit card.  I asked for specific information on charges and dates and was told that they could only give us the amount we needed to pay.  He attempted to get me to pay while on the phone and when I said I did not want to give out our credit card information on the phone he sent me an email with a place to sign and pay.  Can you tell me how your situation was resolved?  I am thinking about contacting our local police to notify them.  Thank you.

Your post is spot on to what happened to my gf the past couple of days.   Restricted number with a message about a case against her, with a case number.   Left this number 8448739176.  When called, corporate towers was the response and transferred to quaid Bradley associates.   They said she had a debt from 2003 from citi financial and owed$4600.  Citi financial was never on her credit report.   Also, they will only email.  No certified usps mail.

I understand she contacted the police.  The question was actually pertaining to how it was resolved.  Did they continue to contact her regarding the bill, did she end up paying them, etc.

None of that is pertinent.  What matters is that this is a scam.  The company doesn't exist, and who knows if the debt actually exists and if it does whether it was paid or not paid.  Also, since this company is a scam then they can't legally be collecting, which is why they are violating the law.
