got a text on my cell stating
"this is an automated message from Energy Plus CU. Your ATM card has been suspeneded. To reactivate call urgent at 18668004377"

I call, and first question and automated voice states please type in your 16 digit atm. No mention of the company name, not live voice, no "0" operator option. I could only imagine the next question is your dob or ss or pin. sounds like a text scam

Got a text on my cellphone, that said they were from a Buffalo credit union in a state 1000 miles from where I live and have not lived for 10 yrs. My atm card has suspended, blah blah. It has to be a scam: because I do not belong to a credit union and because my cell phone area code is from Buffalo. They were just fishing. Beware.

Got the same as above at 12:18pm - sent them a return text inviting them to have sex with themselves.

got a text on sprint phone from 866-800-4377, said they were from buffalo credit union, debit card suspended, blah, blah ...none listed in yellow pages, would love to know an appropriate place to forward it, maybe erie or niagara county sherrifs?

Got the same thing a few minutes ago. A text indicating that my atm card had been suspended..yada yada. Deleted the message

I received "This is an automated message from Buffalo Credit Union. Your ATM card has been suspended.  To reactivate, call urgent at 18668004377."  I don't belong to Buffalo Credit Union, if there is such a place.  This certainly sounds like a scam.  I'd like to know how they got all of our cell numbers though.  Do any of you that have already responded have Sprint?

Yes, I have sprint and just received this exact same message 3 minutes ago.  I do not belong to a Buffalo Credit Union, and have never heard of one.

Just got this SPAM.  I have Sprint, and Live in Buffalo.  I am not a member of the "Buffalo Credit Union", in fact, there is no such thing in Buffalo (http://creditunionaccess.com/NY-Buffalo-credit-unions.htm).  Looks like a scam to get your ATM card number.  I've reported it to Sprint's abuse email address (abuse@messaging.sprintpcs.com).  Unfortunately it comes from "Unknown sender" so I can' use the Sprint text to '9999' system to simply block it.

My daughter received the same.  Have Sprint, live near Buffalo.

Ditto for me. The message has the time of 12:48am on 1/11/16 (sic) but got it yesterday. I also live in buffalo and have sprint.

My wife (Sprint) got the same message as everyone above on the 11th.  Also received an additional message on the 15th from the Buffalo Police from # 1-866-800-9972 alleging same. Total scam.
