Stated they were microsoft and I have a potential virus on my computer

I recieved an Alert on my PC. I'm running my anti- irus now. I might have to call that number. If you called. Could you reply & give me a heads up. I sure wiuld appreciate it.

Do not call that number.
The "Alert" is a fraud, a lie. Their business is also frauds and lies.

Their goal is to trick you into giving them remote access to your computer, and then they can install their own spyware, keyloggers, whatever, to get access to your passwords and account names and numbers, for email and banking and anything else. They also want money, and if you do not cooperate once you give them access to your computer, they can erase the contents of your computer.

I chatted with a Microsoft tech online. She has b
me run a scan. It turns out that I had infected files. The scan repaired them. I have the Insiders Build 14342,whi h might be the problem. Not sure. You might run a scan to be sure all is ok.
Right click on the Start button
Then click on 'command prompt (admln)
Then type in sfc /scannow
(there is a space between the 'c' and the '/`)
It takes awhile to run. It will repair any corrupt files.
