got a call tonight from breast cancer support foundation. i looked for  a website...found none. they asked for credit card info, i told them to mail me a form rather than give info over the phone.

Got a call tonight.  Caller said she was calling on behalf of the Breast Cancer Support Foundation.  I told her I did not have time to talk and hung up.  Googled the name and cannot find website, similar to what others have reported.

These people call at least once a day. From what I read they are a scam. How do I file a complaint?

The caller is a FOR PROFIT SOLICITOR calling on behalf of their customer "charities". This solicitor keeps on average 59% of what they get from you as their fee (some keep 69%), the balance goes to the "charity", and the "charity" in turn keeps much of the money.  I have read that some call this type of business arrangement a "scam charity" but I don't know. Using the info below, you can do some Google searches and see some of their other charities who may also be calling you.

The caller is: Associated Community Services, aka: A C Services, 29777 Telegraph Road, Suite 3000, Southfield, MI, 48034. phone:(248) 352-2600 fax: (248) 351-2124

Associated Community Services has been sued by several states for deceptive solicitation practices and have been barred from soliciting in some states. Google "Associated Community Services lawsuit" to see the lawsuits they have been involved in.

The page indicates 41% of what A C Services collects goes to the "charity" they are soliciting for but click on each charity listed to see how much the charity actually gives to the people in need. Some of the "charities" A C Services solicits for provide as little as 3% to program expenses which means after you give them $10, A C Services keeps $5.90, the charity gets $4.10, and the charity spends only $0.12 of your original $10 donation (or 1.2%) on services to the people they are trying to help.

Demand that the caller puts you on their Do Not Call list; they will make the excuse that they are a charity and can legally call you to solicit money. (Charities are NOT bound to abide by the Do Not Call registry but this is not a charity calling you, it is a paid solicitor.... maybe a telemarketer is a better description..... so I don't know how they can call in violation of the DNC registry.) Give A C Services a call at the MI number above and ask to be put on their corporate Do Not Call list; I did but it doesn't seem to work. File a BBB complaint against them. File FCC and FTC complaints against them. File Attorney general complaints against them in your state and in MI. Send a letter to their law firm.

Go to the "Charity Navigator" website to see high rated charities where a high percentage of your money will go to those in need.

866-825-2728 ( A Breast Cancer Support Fdoundation) called me 12/17/10 and asked me for $30. I said Ok thinking I was helping out. They also said that they filed all of their donations with the govt so I would have to pay it no matter what basically. Then I googled them and saw all of their bad reviews. When I tried to call back I just get an answering machine. I left a message but have yet to hear back.

I got a call last night at 8:30, this was the first time they've called me.

Thanks to all for the information. I'm ashamed of myself that I even agreed to send my $20. (Hey, it's Christmas! I was in a giving mood.) I should have known right away when the caller switched me over to her "supervisor" who immediately asked for my credit card number. When I refused she asked me to  PROMISE that I would send my 20 bucks back as soon as I got the information in the mail.When I came to my senses I checked this bogus "charity" out, since I live near the Woodlands, TX and the info in the mail allegedly came from there. It's a nice big building that has "Virtual Office Space". Well, that's not the first promise I've broken. If they call back I'll simply let them know that I plan on filing a complaint with the Texas Attorney General.

I got a rude woman with an attitude as well.  She called me honey and was chastizing me for being annoyed that she called.  I called them back and left a message reporting her and demanded a call back.  Now that I know it is a fraud line, I am going to post it on FB so people know and report them to the BBB.

Don't be a boob too.  No charity can force you to follow through with a donation.  And they know that.  Tell them to eat you and to sue you.

Another in the long line of numbers to go on my call block. Keep in mind these people have lots of numbers and ask for money under many bogus charity names. listine in back ground to hear other calls lol....
Also I would like to warn all about an internet program called CHIP-IN seems alot of people with webcams at there home like on ustream are asking for money! a site that started in  june 2010  in Australia has made enough money in the CHIP-IN to buy herself a new car! (SHE SHOWED OFF THE NEW CAR ONLINE, AND COVERED THE LISENCE PLATE) how stupid is that? THEY WILL ALL GET COUGHT. so buy some bird seed to feed wild birds that have always had pleanty of food before being the stars to earn her new car and money tax free for her family. scam. yes you send money with paypal right to the account and fake money reason but dont forget to check the gift box so no gets IRS? well all CHIP-INS are scams on ustream beware just another scam to watch out for.

I just received my first call from this number yesterday and did not answer.  I didn't answer because I've been receiving scam calls since the end of August in 2010 from different so called companies using different numbers to reach me.  I know they are scam as I google the phone numbers and find from 100's of others that they are not legitimate.  They also usually call my cell number instead of land line which is very unusual.  I can't prove it, but I had never received a single one of these calls until 2 weeks after I had been approved for an online Sallie Mae loan I applied for, for my son's college expenses.  Another guy had posted he had never received any until he had applied for a loan from Lending Tree.  Coincidental???  I don't know.  But the timing of it, and the use of my cell number make me believe that these companies are selling our numbers to other companies OR they have been hacked.  It's [***] and I'm mad as hell.  I've complained to different agencies, and nothing is being done.

Just received a call at 9:30 am from this number.  Got the same spiel that they were soliciting for charity.  Told the caller she had woken me up as I had worked extremely late last night and I had to go.  Her reply was a deadpan "wow."  I hung up after this, as if she is really soliciting for cancer donations, she should have a little more understanding that not everyone goes to work at 8 am.   I was up at 3 am, lady.  What time did you go to bed?  Even if this was a legitimate charity, her attitude would ENSURE that I would not give a cent to them.

Now I see it's a scam.  No surprise there.  What kind of lowlife do you have to be take a telemarketing job soliciting money for a scam charity?  

They better not ever call me again.

I have been receiving calls from AC Services for about a month now...Not just one but sometimes four to five times a day. Each time it is a different voice waiting to begin the same spheel... I have kindly said I am not interested the first 10 times... Now I just hang up with no response.I am on the "do not call" thing but hoopdeedo with that...How many times does the receiver of the call have to say no or no thank you or I'm not interested before they give it a rest.A very irritating and rude business tactic and will only hurt them in the long run. When you begin to have websites showing up with nothing but negitive discussions about your company's profile it's pretty clear your heading down the tube. No means don't call me again... I'm not interested means don't call me again.Pass the word to the chief there if you would...

Did some checking and found that "The Breast Cancer Support Foundation" is part of the Breast Cancer Charities of America (BCCA) Based out of The Woodlands Tx., Thebreastcancercharities.org is there web site. Do your own research before donating.

get a phone from satalight or cable service, fire verizon or frontier and block these numbers as they can only call as long as you let them, well after blocking they go in a black hole and get a recording (nice huh) that you don't want their calls.  most landline phones charge alot and sell your phone number so asking for a unpublished number is a waste of money. You actualy get more services at lower price like call features of all kinds to customize your home phone. satalight or cable homephone is the way to go. I have cell but noticed as is only for bussines type calls has not been sold out like my home number could have changed my number for free when I changed my carrier but did not since these types of calls just continue. I customized my phone and im glad. Notice I never mention any satlight or cable providers names that is a personal choice of the consumer but you can make #'s stop calling when blocked.

Getting calls from 866-877-2864 stating they are from AC services attempting to collect money for the Breast Cancer Support foundation.  I would not provide them money over the phone and was retured with a sigh.  They did forward me some mailing which look legit however something told me this was not.   I continue to get calls from them.  I want to report them but not sure where to.
