- vtwice586| 1 replyI got the same same message texted to my cell today.
- Bob replies to vtwice586Same message as others re. visa acct frozen. I called it from another number out of curiosity - automated message asks for credit card number, bank number, etc. and keeps repeating over and over if you give it an invalid number (e.g., 12345678790123456).
- mrs tate replies to Maryi just recvd the same message. i called the # and was told to enter my visa debt card #. DID NOT DO IT
- Mrs Taterecvd a text message that said visa account frozen
- JillianSame exact thing.
- SGLThey are definitely trying to get CC info. DO NOT RESPOND or Call the number on the back of your card to verify your account is not frozen.
- GusSame here. Suggest reporting this to BBB and State Attornies Office.
- Jim in Miami Beach| 3 repliesReceived text through Sprint saying "VISA alert #64190". We all assume that's an account number, but it's ambiguous. It's too bad Sprint can't use some CAPTCHA or other means to reduce the spam, since each message costs me $0.20 plus tax. Might be helpful if people would post their service provider so we can see if there is a pattern.
Automated attendant asks for sixteen-digit Visa or debit card number. I gave them a closed account. Although it said it would request two forms of identification to link the account, it only asked for ATM PIN. So I gave them one. Good luck with that account, kiddies!
Don't try this at home--I am a trained professional...and I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night....- Caller: Visa Card Services

- Mary replies to Jim in Miami BeachService provider - AT&T
- lisa replies to Jim in Miami Beach| 1 replySame thing. Use T-Mobile for wireless service. When I received the message, it shows as coming from 3693, instead of 123-456-7890. That usually means that it is a message from my provider. They like to text and remind me to pay my bill and things like that. I called the 866 number and got the same recoding.
Is this a regional thing? I am in the Midwest with 618 are code. - Mike replies to lisaGot same text early this morning, figured it was a fraud. It's sad to think how many people would enter their card number. I did have a fraud alert on a card a couple months ago but called my credit card company directly to deal with it.
