Who is using 866-853-4947? I received a call from this #.

I keep getting a call from this number on my TracFone.  They claim to be from In-patient Account Services of Missouri.  They don't say who they're calling for, but give a different phone number to call, and an account number.  I don't give out my cell phone number, so I know it's not legit.

Couldn't get to the phone in time. Message on my cell phone was to call another number and to reference a number they provided. Automated call.

Automated call to my cell phone.  Message said call was from Rockford Memorial Hospital to ??? and to call 815-853-4947.  I have never been to this hospital.

Didn't write down information provided in automated call to my cell because I had nothing to write with. Called back number in received call log (which was different from the callback number left by the autmoated message) and was placed on hold for a few loops of elevator music then sent to a general voice mailbox where I told them if I didn't hear back from them I would assume it was a telemarketing call and ignore the message.

Call to my cell phone from Account services department. The automated message said "press 1 if you are amisha". When I pressed 1, a music was playing for indefinite time. At that, I disconnected the line. I have been getting this annoying calls since 1 month, and every alternate days.

Called numerous times to my phone, even other cell phones in my family looking for me. The message said it was some doctor with important news from an emergency room I have never been too.

I have been receiving an automated call from this number to my cell phone for at least two months.  Like Dee, the automated voice claims to be from In-patient Account Services of something or other.  The voice does not identify itself, nor does it leave my name in the space my name should be int, it gives a different phone number to call, and an account number (a very long one)to give when you call back.  I finally (today) filed a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry.

I received a call from 866-853-4947 today. The caller said she was from University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. (She should have said UH Case Medical Center. Not so.  This is an Illinois-based bill collection center that is hellbentonelection on collecting items billed within the last 60 days - even if the item is in dispute!  Beware.

After receiving calls from this number (866 853-4947), I called them back and asked who they were and where they were located. I was told they were the account services department of the University Hospitals system. They claimed to be located in Illinois.
I asked if they were a collection agency. The rep stated that they were not a collection agency. Their purpose was to contact patients and make payment arrangements for any outstanding balances.
(Hmm… if it looks like a duck…)
I asked if they perform this service for other medical facilities. Initially, they seemed to avoid directly answering that question by restating they were the account services department of UH.

At this point a supervisor got on the call. I was looking at the 800notes page at the time of the call, so I asked about a couple of the companies listed. Her response was, oh, we do handle other medical facilities. She didn’t understand why that would be relevant. I again asked if they were a collection agency. Her response was the same as the previous reps: we are the account services department of UH.
(Hmm… if it quacks like a duck…)
In my opinion, this is a third party – contracted by the medical facility – to arrange for payments on open accounts. That very nature qualifies them as a collection agency. They can call themselves what they want, as far as I am concerned…

I was socked with over $4000 in medical bills and have no insurance. This number appears to be the collections agency for the hospital I was treated at. They don't waste any time trying to get blood from a stone.

Calling about a bill that has already been paid per the reference number they left on my voicemail.  When I tried to call back the phone number from my bill, I was transferred to voicemail.

they call but never leave a message. we have asked them to stop but no luck with that.

I was in the hospital and made a payment on my first bill since coming home, not a month later they are already calling me looking for the whole payment...WTH!  I'm not working, I just had major surgery, and they know it!

Should be happy with payments but I guess they want them weekly...tough, so do I!
