- SkepticalAfter receiving multiple calls from this number and letting it go to voicemail, I called back to learn that is was Chase Auto Loan contacting me. They asked for the reference number which was never left on my voicemail, in fact no messages were left. The gentleman I spoke with then proceeded to ask for my Social Security number. I refused to give it to him & he went on to say that they would not be able to verify the information without it. He also mentioned something about a dealer inquiry. After hearing that & questioning it I decided to end the call. Funny thing is we did recently finance a vehicle but with a different lender who has nothing to do with "Chase Auto". I'm chalking this up to a scam. I could be wrong, but better safe than sorry. If there is anything to be concerned about with my loan, I'm certain I will receive a letter in the mail.

- G."Chase" asking about a recent vehicle purchase and wanted to verify information. She had specific information about my recently purchased vehicle and sounded quite legit. When I said I did not give personal information to unsolicited callers she said I didn't need to talk to her if I didn't want to, and she couldn't offer a solution to resolve the "issue.". She then seemed like she couldn't get off the phone fast enough. Beware.

- Erin TReceived multiple calls from this number saying they wanted to verify information about a recent loan with Chase. The first time, they wanted to send a code to my phone and have me verify it. I told them I won’t do that and that I would call Chase to provide whatever information they needed. She then gave me a phone number and reference number to call back, of course I didn’t call that one, just called Chase directly from the number on my statement. They confirmed that there was no record of anyone trying to call me.
Just got a call from this number again and she wanted me to tell her my phone number. When I said no, she hung up very quickly.- Caller: Unknown (caller is said JP Morgan chase)

- Eddie F.I recently purchased a vehicle and like a lot of the other experiences I have read on this thread, the woman told me she was calling from J P Morgan Chase. I asked her what did she need. She said they were missing information on my new vehicle purchase and she needed to ask some questions. I refused and told her that I don't give information to unsolicited calls. She laughed and said if I did not want, I did not have to talk to her. As soon as she and I hung up, I called Chase Auto official number and they verified that I did the correct thing, as they had no record of having anyone call me. The representative that I spoke with when I called assured me that they were not missing anything in my file concerning my new purchase. This number appears to be a phishing scam looking for personal identifiable information. This is how they get the info to commit identity theft!!

- JQI got a similar call, stupidly gave them my details (basically the same questions you're asked when applying for a loan, like where you've lived in the past, etc), sent the PIN I got via SMS. She explicitly said they couldn't send me an email from a @chase.com account, and I just went along with it. Then I found this page and thought "well crap, I've been scammed" - this is exactly the information they'd need to pretend to be me and apply for a loan on my name. Placed a freeze + alert on my credit report on all 3 agencies. This morning I called Chase Auto Loans (got their number from their website) and they confirmed they indeed called me at 7pm during Labor day to confirm my loan application, and indeed asked me those questions. I still find it hard to believe. I wouldn't even believe the message I'm typing, were I to read this on the internet from someone else. It's super suspicious.
I would recommend *not* giving out your details to this (or any!) caller, and calling Chase directly to ask if they need any information. Even with Chase having confirmed this (I explicitly asked "not whether this sounds like something you guys do, but was this specific call I got yesterday from you guys?", and Chase confirmed it was, via their records), it's a *terrible* idea to give out those details to a random person who calls you. Stay safe.- Caller: Supposedly Chase
