- MelanieReceived a message from a restricted number today a few minutes ago. I haven't had a student loan in decades.
"Yes this is Samantha Clark and I'm calling in reference to your federal student loan. I would like to discuss your repayment options with some new changes that have taken effect. If you could just give me a call back. My number is 866-864-2772 with your reference number of 330007. Thank you."- Caller: Samantha Clark

- William| 1 replyI do have student loans, that much is true unfortunately!
I got a call from some woman claiming to be Samantha Clark, maybe that's her name, maybe it isn't! I didn't answer the call because I was let's say "half asleep!" When I decided to check the call later the number appeared as "RESTRICTED." But she left a voicemail message, gave me the name Samantha Clark and told me about recent student loan changes. She gave me a reference number 330007, she may have given you a different reference number. She didn't give me the company she worked for.
I wrote down her name, number, and the reference number and was just about to call, and then at the last second I decided to research this number and came across this website, read some of the comments. And then I called MY student loan handlers, which is Navient. They looked into it and they never called me this morning and they told me they DON'T give reference numbers!
It's a good thing I decided to research this before calling back that number! If they call me again I am going to tell them to take my number off their list and or order them NOT to call me again!
It's true I'm autistic, I'm not lying, I have autism, and can be careless and unduly trusting but I'm not stupid and I'm not completely gullible!
I feel sorry for anyone else named Samantha Clark and who has a legitimate reason for calling, if they're not trusted when they should be, it's this woman's fault anyone actually with such name and needs to call isn't trusted, even unnecessarily mistreated!- Caller: Samantha Clark

- AJ replies to WilliamI got the SAME exact message. I have student loans that I need to start paying but "Samantha Clark" left a message with the same reference number. I have also had other ppl leaving other fake messages as well.
- MonicaJust got a call from the same number and Samantha left a message to call her back about a student loan and the recent changes. I do have a student loan but she did not say what company she is with nor my name. SCAM!!!!!

- Eileen replies to Eileen| 1 replyI am replying to my own post because “Samantha Clark” has left another message, this time from 515-598-7203
- BigA replies to EileenObviously it was not important enough to post in that thread though as that thread remains empty: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-515-598-7203
- AnneThe other day, I kept repeatedly receiving calls from an Unknown number. After letting about 5 of those unknown calls go to voicemail, “Samantha Clarke” finally left her voice message about repaying a student loan debt. Highly aware that these repayment companies don’t call you, I knew this was a scam. I THOUGHT the calls would end there, but then yesterday, I received another call, this time with a number from Georgia (I’m from CA btw and have NO fam in GA), and after only 1 call proceeded to leave me the same message and surprisingly, the same reference number. Oh, and if her sketchy calls weren’t suspicious enough, she never once addressed my name.
DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THESE KINDS OF SCAMS!- Caller: Samantha Clarke

- Kevin| 1 replyThis same lady aka Samantha Clark called and left a message from an unknown number about a student loan. I don't have a student loan and didn't say my name or which company they're from, off the bat they're scammers. Be careful out there folks, these idiot clowns have nothing better to do than to scam people! DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! If you have a student loan I highly suggest that you call your university/college to confirm or to make sure that everything is ok.

- BigA replies to KevinWould you not call your loan servicer or the company who gave you the loan? How would the university/college know about your loan?
- NicoleCalled in regards to paying student loans back. Gives a reference number but doesn’t state company affiliated with. Call comes in as “no caller id”

- JasonCalled about federal loans. I did recently change my student loans, but considering they called from a hidden number and were not specific about who they were, safe to say it's another loan scam/spam
- RobertI've tried calling them back on a landline a few times and the line just goes dead. I know it's a scam but wanted to find out more, so called from my office.

- WLWSimilar experience here, but may I suggest that instead of simply posting another "me too" here that people go to the FTC's web site to file a complaint? (I did before coming here.) With the number the scammer leaves to call back, maybe the FTC can actually track these people down. If enough people file complaints, it's more likely to get acted on.

- JessicaI was called by the Samantha Clark about student loans. I have some, but already had access to information about my loans and repayment. I didn't think it weird that she was calling, though.
Then a couple of weeks later, I was called by a Danielle Parker about credit debt. Same lady's voice, same voicemail structure. Both came from unknown numbers and gave phone numbers with area code 866.
Unfortunately, I almost got fooled by Samantha's voicemail since I never dealt with student loans. Thanks for reassuring me that it's a scam.- Caller: Samantha Clark
