- David Fleischman| 2 repliesReceived a similar letter ask me to call 1 (866) 865-7841. I call and someone from BoA supposedly answered. They texted me a code to read back to them. Are the people at that number scammers?

- CM replies to David FleischmanNever ever read back a code that someone sent you...they are trying to reset one of your passwords or get into one of your accounts.
- Jim| 1 replyI got a phone and now a letter in the mail from "BofA" asking me to open my credit file. I called the real Bank of America customer service number and was told no such request was pending and that I should not call the 866-865-7841 number.
- Don replies to JimI just got the same letter in the mail the same day same number. Thanks for the info.
- MI just read others reports from 2022 and this exact thing just happened to me now in 2024. I also received a letter in the mail regarding the Alaska Airline Visa Signature credit card that I didn't apply. Of course I don't trust everything in the letter and I googled the BoA phone no. and it didn't match the no. listed in their letter, and it seems to be pointing to an Airline Pilot Academy in Mesa, AZ. Unfortunately these crooks are out there scamming people. We all need to remain vigilant.
- LarryI got a letter today asking me to call this number and unlock my credit bureau accounts so they could process my application for an Alaska Airline Credit Card that I NEVER applied for...This is a scam and no way did I fall for this.
- Bb| 1 replyI received 2 emails over the past weeks. Today a letter. All said that I had applied for an Alaskan Airlines Mileage Visa offered by Bank of America. Each time I was to call this number. The first email said I needed to call to confirm my application. The second email and letter asked me to unfreeze my credit.
- Caller: Unidentified-claimed to be B of A, but was not
- Mistee replies to BbI never applied for the Alaska Airlines card or their Mileage Plus program.I got the email said I applied for the Alaska Airlines credit card and another welcoming me to their Mileage Plus airline miles program. Then 3 days later email from BofA asking me to unfreeze TransUnion and Experian freezes for my card app.Today got the logo letter saying to call 866 865 7841 once release freezes. Beware dont unfreeze reports or call or give any personal info. Been so many data breaches most peoples info is out there for scammers to try and rip us off.
