- felix| 1 replyAn automated message reminding to make a payment to Bank of America
- Caller: Bank of America
- fawcettSaid something about "card services"
- CDepreceived multiple calls from this number each day. called it back and it was an automated "card services" number, then a rep picked up and asked for my account number.
- phlgrl33| 1 replyI called it back and it was an answering service for a local funeral home. However I find the other responses interesting since I have a credit card with Bank of America. It is annoying
- sdd| 1 replycall 3-4 times a day and never leave a message....
i dont answer #'s i dont know, so that's their loss if they
dont leave a message. - peter| 1 replyReceived 4 calls from them regarding change of my account information with bank of america. i do not have an account with them.. so this is obviously fraudulent.. the call was automated and wanted me to verify personal information (which i did not). i called them to check whether it was a spoofed phone number or real number. my call went to "card services" - the customer rep gave an impression they provided services to many banks and wanted my phone # (which i did not). I called Bank of America Fraud alert # 800-432-1000 and they do not recognize 866-866-2153 and advised not to give any personal information to third party calling in to verify information. However, Bank of America representative said she can not report this activity to trace faudulent activity (they accept complaints only about online phishing). This was really lame excuse but anyway what else can one do?
Has anyone reported this activity to Law Enforcement?- Caller: Card Services
- Call type: Unwanted
- KristaAutomated message saying they were calling about (some guy's name) account...please have him call them back. No one by that name lives here.
- Caller: Unknown
- Ga RamblerRepeated calls from this caller ID. It's a company called FIA services (legit company) that does bankcard servicing for MBNA, Bank of America and others. Not sure why they called me as I don't have one of their cards.
- Caller: FIA
- Call type: Unwanted
- tlhmreceive multiple calls a day from this number. It's incredibly annoying!
I haven't given them any information.- Call type: Unwanted
- tlhm| 1 replyI just received another call from this number.
They asked for my husband and I by first name. The recording then stated that the status of our account with BofA had changed. The recording then asked me to put in either the last four digits of SS# or zip code. At that point I hung up. This is incredibly annoying. They call at least 3 or 4 times a day! What do I do to stop it?- Caller: They say Bank of America
- Call type: Unwanted
- KristaThey call several times each day. It's an automatic message stating that it's Bank of America calling about an important change in the account of (some guy's name -- not me or anyone who lives here). Press 1 if this is him, press 2 if it is not. If I press 2, then I'm supposed to press 1 if I want to wait for the account holder to come to the phone, blah blah blah. That's when I hang up. Usually I ignore the call and the automatic message ends up on my voicemail. Sometimes I just pick it up and leave the receiver on my desk. I don't even have a Bank of America account and I don't recognize the name of the person they are asking for!
- Caller: Bank of America (supposedly)
- MadrasAaronMy phone has been getting blown up by these guys for about the last week... 3-4 calls a day. I do have an MBNA account, but my tab is current so no need to get a hold of me for that. If they don't have a person at their end of the line, I don't feel like I need to have one at mine, so I don't answer.
- Caller: MBNA???
- some news| 1 replyfor those of you who dont have a bank of america account and are confused by the call, FIA card services used to provide credit card services to other banks (including wachovia which is where i work and how i know this) they were bought out by bank of america last year, so all of their accounts are being converted to bank of america accounts, meaning if you used to have a wachovia (or citi bank or other bank credit card and your bill came from fia card services) you now have a bank of america credit card and that is probably why they are calling you. just a heads up
- Unknown meThey call like 2-3 times a day and all I hear is a recording that say something about if not press 2. Its annoying and pointless its dumb to even answer your phone and thats all you hear it says nothing about bank of america so I looked it up
- Caller: Bank of america
- TontoThey left a voice mail sme as the others press 1 or 2 I tried to call back but did not get any type of answer. Annoying !!!
- Inspector Chuck replies to tlhmRegister our number on the "Do not call list" that should take care of it.
https://www.donotcall.gov - qbomb| 1 replyThis is a legit company attempting to collect past due payments for MBNA, Bank of America, credit cards. I do have a card and they called because my automatic payments had expired and I forgot to set them back up again. I provided my name and last 4 of my ss# and they pulled up all the information themselves. They even had my bank listed already that I used for my previous payments (ie i was not asked to provide any bank account information). If you are receiving calls from this number repeatedly, just quick give them a call back and tell them that whoever they are looking for no longer resides at this number...most likely your number belonged to them previously in which case these folks are just doing their jobs with the information that was provided to them.
- Caller: FIA
- Call type: Debt collector
- RikashI keep getting these calls 2-3 times a day for the past week. When I actually picked up the phone the other end instantly hangs up. Now I just ignore it. But reading the thing about a legit company, if it was legit they wouldn't call so many 'wrong numbers'. I don't even have any bank account or credit card with any service at all and I'm already on the do not call list. I never get a voice mail or any sort of message. Is there any way to just block a number from calling a cell?
- CindyThe automated woman said that it was a call from bank of america and that my account services had changed. i pressed "1" to verify my name, but when she asked for my last four digits of my SS#, I hung up. i have had overdue accounts, as well as identity theft, and I have never received a phone call such as this one. the caller id showed "unavailable", that's another clue that this is some sort of scam. when will people learn that we should never give personal information over the phone unless we have initiated the call?
