- unknownsome [removed:lang] who can't speak english mumbled gibberish
I could not understand and asked if this was a residence
or business line. They claimed I ordered some service
which is Not true.
I told them wrong number and dont call again.
I never answered their phishing questions
since its none of their business.
who is this? - KAn actual english speaking person called my business and asked to speak to "Mr. Dave". I could tell from the delay when I answered that he was a telemarketer and told him to put me on his do not call list...as I was saying thank you and hanging up, I heard him say something about getting the information correct on a business listing. too bad so sad.

- SoCalVicJust like K above, male called about getting information correct on a business listing. Then tried to sell directory service at $49.95 per month after a free two week trial. Asked if he was from Yellow Pages but said he wasn't. He was from "Green listing" instead?

- WI've gotten a number of calls from this # referring to a phone directory on line .....I tell them I never had one and never will then hang up....they still call, I just don't answer now....
- DI actually answer some of their questions, becuase we do advertise on quite a few locations, heres the fun part, a person who barely speaks english ran through a 200 work document that included questions and my predetermined responses in under 60 seconds, i couldt understand what he was saying so at the end i said the word NO to his answer is this correct, then i was sent to another line that gave me a .5 second message, after which i called the customer service line, 866-868-9314, which took me to customer service which was closed,
Name of the company was Green Initiatives, companies that promote green business, ill have another update at a latter time, but dont answer their questions, and dont give them information that they cant find out online, its not worth it,- Caller: Green Initiatives

- ontherocksI received a telemarketing phone call from this number and the salesman was talking very fast. He assured me there was nothing that would be charged to me or my company. I asked him several times if there where going to be any charges for his "Free Trial". He continually told me no. After we hung up I called the 800# back that he left me and there was no human to speak too. All I received was a voice recorder. At that time I knew I should have listened closer to him fast speech. Now I have a charge on my AT&T bill of $49.99. I have called the number on my bill and they will not refund the 49.99. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was in a meeting and my information would be passed on to her. I asked if she would call me back and was told she would be given my information. I asked repeatedly if I could get a call back and I was told there was no guarantee I would receive a call back. I'm not sure what to do and no one can help me. I don't even answer my phone when the number comes up unknown or it's an 800# anymore.

- jp| 1 replyThis is from findagreenbusiness.net and is owned by Green Initiatives, LLC. They get around the do not call list by pretending to take a survey. They are in fact telemarketers trying to get small businesses to list on their directory. They tell you it is free and do not collect any information. These people are deceptive liars. They use what is called "cramming" to charge you through your phone bill and try to trick you into saying "yes" to get your permission. There is an article on cramming here http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3078500 Do not do business with these people.

- mar| 1 replyA call came from 1-888-296-1363 asking me to update our business listing online. They said it was a free service. You then have to be transferred to a "quality control supervisor". He runs through a long script at an extremely fast speed. When I didn't answer questions to his liking, we had to restart the session. As I listened carefully to the rambling script, I noticed he said a $49.99 charge. I didn't notice how or where that charge would appear, but it made me nervous. I made sure to write down the customer service phone number and called immediately after hanging up. The customer service number was 1-866-868-9314, the Company was Green Initiatives. I was able to cancel the service immediately, even though my "order" doesn't appear in their computer. I asked for confirmation and was told to call back in 3-5 business days. Needless to say, I will definitely be calling back. There is a 14 day free trial period where you can cancel any time and not be charged. Don't let them scam you. If you have agreed, cancel immediately!!! Do not answer their questions! Hang up!

- jp replies to marEven if you cancel the service, they will still charge you. Double check you phone bill. You will probably have to argue with you phone company to get them to drop the charge. Green Initiatives won't, even if they say your service has been canceled. These people are unethical and can not be trusted. It is better to not talk to them in the first place and file a complaint with the fcc.
- neighborhood bookkeeperI just started getting these 49.99 charges on my neighborhood's clubhouse at&t phone bill, I called to see what they were and was told that someone had authorized it at the number and provided business info which was only address and name. This someone is a bogus name that doesn't even live in our neighborhood. They said they would cancel the service and even gave me a cancellation number. After saying that according to terms and conditions they were unable to refund the past two months, my responding that that was unacceptable, they assured me that a supervisor would be contacting me! at&t doesn't want to block the 3rd party billing in case they do a refund, so I discontinued my automatic payment for the meantime.
- MS| 1 replyI saw this charge on my business telephone bill; I called and they said that one of my employees approved their services. I asked for the transcript of that approval and I couldn't understand a thing the guy said; it was all garbled. All I heard was my employee verifying our business name and address and her name. She would never agree to anything, and they insist that she said she was the person authorized to make changes to our bill - not true. The company will not drop the charge because they said it was approved by this employee. I said that they can not prove that since the recording was completely garbled. They would not drop the charges still, so I called AT&T and told them what happened and they took the charge off my bill. They said I still may get a bill directly from the company.

- gallettasgreenhouse.comThis "Green Initiatives, LLC" (1-866-868-9314) company did not call me, but sent me a 'snail mail' requesting that I add my business to their directory, and charge me $49.99 a month via my phone bill for the service. I believe that they found me via my website. My business is a small, family-owned-and-operated business that couldn't afford such a fee, but even if my business could afford it, the charge seems needlessly excessive. Plus, they didn't even ask if we WERE green! If you pay, they will list you! I could be the worst polluter known to man, and be listed if I simply paid for the service! Cool beans, although I don't really care one way or another. It seems like a scam to me!

- OutrageHello.
I also received a call regarding "services" that Green Initiatives have been selling. Starting with an Indian person that could barely speak English, he was not only speaking at an enormous speed, but claimed to just be asking for information for a listing. Of course, because we have a yellow pages listings for our business, I approved of it. Later, he goes off and started blabbering about some sort of free trial and stuff like that for 14 days. I mean, to be honest, I'm fine with that. But I specifically asked them to call me before the trial period was over. They said, "Sure thing. That's not going to be a problem. We will call at least 2 or 3 times within the trial period see how everything is going." I thought of this as a kind gesture. I find out later that they never called me and my welcome package didn't come until after that first charge was added to my phone bill. At a ridiculous price of $49.99, and that's without the taxes and junk ($54.49 total), they supposedly provided a web hosting service and other useless "services." When I was called them back to complain and ask for a refund they refused to give it and said that they're policies were legal and I had approved of the service. I specifically told them not to charge me unless I approved of it when they called back. They also said they called and left messages or we did not pick up. Our damn business hours are 11am - 1am. Is that even possible for us not to pick up? And, messages? We don't even have an answering machine. So I asked them to play the recording. They go ahead and play the recording as if everything was legal. During the actual call, I specifically remember everything I said. Guess what? They replace the script and cut bits and pieces of it off. Well, I had to waste 1 hour and 27 minutes on the phone with their representative and supervisor to finally receive a refund. - The SecretaryI receive a phone call from a representative at least once a day informing me that they are updating my listing in the Houston area. After several times of telling the agent that I do not have a physical location in Houston and requesting to be removed from their call list - I was informed that this service is required by the State of Texas and that I was required to participate in the program.
I asked to speak to a supervisor to be removed from the call list and was basically told that they would call everyday until I commit to the program.
I still get calls everyday and I politely inform them to remove me from their list and I hang up.- Caller: Green Initiatives (find a green business

- HoustonSmallBusinessOwnerAfter repeated assurances that they were not calling to do anything but verify that the information they had was correct, the caller ran through a script which included the phrase "amke changes to your phone"; i should have stopped and declined at that point, but I instead asked for clarification if that meant changes to my phone service and/or any billing, and they assured me that no, this was just about making changes to my information with them. I will be contacting AT&T and their "customer service" number in the morning to get this bounced, and my next call after that will be to the Texas Public Utilities Commission and to the Texas AG's office; this smells like blatant fraud to me.

- LinThese bottom-feeders have called my home 8 times in the last 3 hours. These people should be in jail. If you get a call from this number turn off your ringer and DON'T ANSWER! When you try to call the number you just get dead air and then an eventual disconnect. If they're paying for these "dead air" call backs, maybe we should all start calling that number dozens of times a day. Someone's paying for the calls so maybe this is how we fight back.
