I received that call today.  Upon research, they are a scam... a collection agency using scare tactics which in fact are illegal and do this in an attempt to find out updated address, telephone number and job information to harrass you as a collection agency!   Don't be intimidated!

Got a couple of calls like that (June 29). First the number showed up to be a private number, but they left a message. " This is Lisa from the Processing Service Department calling for me pertaining some documents that were for me. She left a toll-free number at the end of the message but I erased the number before I could get the rest. The other day I pretended to be someone else and talked to them and they were talking all fast and wanted to know my address..I'm told her you have the number but don't have my address..ackward. How can they have my number but not my address?  She threaten to serve papers saying that is would be a criminal suit if I don't pay today and papers would be served in a matter of three weeks, but they called back the next day...I don't know about these people. Does anyone else have the same problem. This just wrong and they need to quit.

Don't be scared.  Unfortunately, all that info is on your credit report.  They called me today and gave me a case number and said he was from a process server verification.  Told me there was a failed attempt to serve.  Checked county records, no cases are filed, which is the first step of a summons.  There has to be a court case number and a complaint filed in court. Don't be scared. I am getting ready to call them and let them know that I am on to them.  We will see what happens

I received the same type calls as well....scared me to death almost. Have address to home and work; also I recently got married and know my husbands name.
I'm curious why and how do they have this information and should I do anything.
However; I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one and it sounds more and more like a scam

Recieved a call from "Mark" with Process Service Verification last week he said that he was calling to notify me that someone would be serving me with papers between the hours of 8am to 5 pm that day.  Funny thing was it was a Saturday when he called and it was about 10:30am when the call came to my cell phone from a "Restricted Number", so they call using *67 to block their phone number how tricky of them.  He left a case number and said it was filed with the county and if I wanted to avoid being served I should call 1-855-309-0252 and refrence that case right away.

I was home the whole day and no one came, shocker and I didn't call back.  I don't have any debt and I've paid off all my credit years ago so this makes no sense to me.

Today I recieved another call from "Mark" again he said the same spill except this time someone needed to be home (and listed my home address, correctly) and said this was the FINAL attempt because there was already one failed attempt to my work (he knew where I worked and listed an address), funny thing is I work for a national company that has locations ALL over the US.  The address given was obviously just found using Google and was the closest one to my house.  I don't even work at that location so I'm not buying his crap.  He also said they told him there to reach me on my cell I called over there and they said no one had been in.

This is clearly some scam or something and I am not falling for it however if they continue to call me for no reason I will take action to make it stop.

Sad thing is I am sure allot of people are innocent and fall for this trap or crap however you want to say.  Beware!

These people from the "Process Service Verifications - Legal Dept" called my personal cell phone and left a message at my church not for me but for a FREIND of mine. When I told them this was not the number for that person they asked to leave a message. After giving me his name and number he asked for my information that I refused to give him then proceeded to say he would just have to serve my friend in church.  I do not know who these people are but I'm sure their practices are unethical!

I just got a call from a similar agency from a guy named MICHAEL JONES saying he had information on a lawsuit regarding my father and his Ex Girlfriend.  When he called he was making it seem like he was trying to contact my father but he said my name by accident and tried to cover it up, what an ass...  When i called the number he gave me to give them a piece of my mind, i got a "General voice mailbox"  So i left Mr. Jones (Worst fake name ever) a nastygram about if he was contacting my father they should contact him and not me and to losy my number.  Haha these people are so dumb.

    The contact number was 855-252-3392

Be careful folks, people are stoopid...

These people called me about my sister. They are just bill collectors who are the scum of the earth. Fortunately, I am an attorney and quickly pounced on their sorry butts. You can not serve process on someone unless a lawsuit has already been filed. It is a legal impossibility!  If they call you ask for the case number for the lawsuit and the location where it is filed. They won't be able to provide any information. The [***] I spoke to started by giving me their little refence number, but when I pressed she said their agents were preparing the case to be files. It takes an attorney to file the suit and an agent. She then changed her story again so I asked her if she had any idea what she was talking about and of course she continued to read off her script. I told her that it was boring talking to her and hung up. I then reported her to the Attorney General's Office. In Texas, the Attorney General's Office handles complaints against collection agencies. If you are outside Texas check with you State's Attorney General Office to see who pursues complaints against the idiots. When you speak with a collection agency, get the name of the full name of the person calling, their mailing address and don't worry about their refence number crap. If they refuse to give you that information then make sure you put that information in your complaint.

.... or you could have just paid your bills and avoided all this entirely.

yea, they're calling to collect the balance on a credit card that YOU took out and left unpaid.... after the credit card company got sick of your deadbeat decision to not return calls or at least make arrangements, they sold your debt to a collections company for pennies on the dollar. now this other company, that youve never heard of, legally owns your debt.

of course theyre scumbags, of course theyre demanding, of course they have to lie to you, how else did you expect to be treated when you owe someone money?? were you expecting a sweet and understanding person on the other end?? the government scams you everyday and youre ok with it, now its being done slightly different and you get all defensive....wake up. you caused this.

The real scam here is the credit card company that sold your debt for PENNIES on the dollar.....??
think about it... and ask questions.

where is their profit?? what was their purpose? how are they still in business??

    its time to wake up.

were living in a system of slavery set up by debt and the false illusion that paper money has actual value.

Really??? It's our fault we are being harrassed because couldnt pay our debts? You dont know everyones story and not everyone is a deadbeat! just because payments could not be made does not give them the right to to scare and harrass the hell out of people at home and where they work. THIS IS ILLEGAL no other way around it, but I'm sure your perfect and have never done anything wrong your entire life right? Get over yourself.
