Same exact thing happened to me. Texted me that I had an overdue cash advance loan from 2016 in a state I moved from 10 years prior. Had really old info on me but I did not take out the loan. Said if I didn’t pay in a week they were suing me in Florida (I’m in Indiana).  Talked to an attorney who said to send them a debt verification letter. Asked her for her physical address to send it and she gave me one which turned out to be a bogus address. I’m keeping all these records in case they do indeed try to sue me for this false debt, but reading everything here I’m pretty confident it’s a scam and I won’t spend any more time on it.

Got a call from 866-817-1845 in regards to loan I supposedly took out in 2012 from Personal Cash Advance, they had old address and old bank account as asked for more information and mentioned I would forward the info to my attorney and the guy got upset and hanged up.

They just called me today and scared me immediately. Claimed I took out a loan for $500 & that I now owe $1955.87. So placed me on hold, then line was disconnected. The name was Covington Management Mediation.

Just received the text stating I was going to be served with documents. Once I called the number provided I was in transferred to a supposed different department at which time they told me that I had an amount of money owed to a payday loan taken out in 2014. When I asked for documentation based on the supposed amount owed they said they had over 25,000 locations that it could be linked to. Typically online. Once I was speaking to the end dividual he then gave me many options on how to settle before I was to receive a summons at which time he repeatedly stated once that happens he cannot get involved. I asked him why it was I could not find his company name Covington management online. He was pretty slick and stating that he was in the business of bad reviews and that no one wants to owe money.  Supposedly his name was David Russell, and I found it very unprofessional how he supposedly was eating an orange or an apple according to him while he was on the phone with me. I am formed him that I was going to get off the phone and call my attorney and that if I felt this car was actually verifiable I would call him back at which time he reminded me I’m on a limited time schedule before receiving a summons.
