    nononsense
Only telemarketers and people soliciting stuff or trying to get info from you would text you with a four digit ID claiming that you have a new message and to call their 1-866 number.

It's gotta be a scam phishing for info.    I'd say this company is suspect:

I received 3 text messages today.  The first one I received was texted to me from 3657 @ 2:44pm CST.  The text stated "18888945146@inbox.com//You have received a new message. Call now :1 888 8735 382 to hear it.

The second text I received was texted from 3560 @4:07pm it stated 188888945146@t-banking.com/ / You have received a new message.  Cal now :1 888 894 5146 to hear it.

The third text I received was texted from 3529 @ 5:54pm CST.  The message stated 18668735382@inbox.com/ / You have received a new message. Call now toll. free: 1 866 8735 382 to hear it.

I wrote down the phone numbers and first called the 8668735382 number.  It stated that it was something regarding a settlement that I was elligible for.  It gave several options and I clicked option five which was for "what happens if you don't do this" and it stated that you won't get any money.  It then gave me the option to go back to the main menu but I hung up instead.

Next I called the other number and it was stating that someone had attempted to access my banking account and my security was in jeopardy.  It then proceded to ask for credit card information.  I was kind of curious what would happen so I inputted 6565 6565 6565 6565.  Obviously a scam because anybody in their right mind would know this is not a valid credit card number.  It went on to ask for my expiration date, pin number and security code in which I also typed in random numbers.  At the end of the call it stated that it would be forwarded to a senior officer and they would contact me within the next 5 business days.

Next I tried calling the first number again because I wanted to get more information but amazingly it was disconnected....interesting, huh?

I did call my bank and the bank had stated that this is a global issue and they have had several reports of this.  They stated that as long as I didn't give out any personal information I would be ok.

1-866-873-5382@inbox.com// you have a new message. Call now toll.free: 1 866 8735 382 to hear it.....That is how the number appears too. not like your normal 3diget then your 4 diget number.
When I called it, it was disconected. Really tired of people who have no life, and have nothing better to do than irritate others!

Recieved the same message of "18668735382@inbox.com" telling me to call the number to hear it. Actually as I am typing this i recieved my second text in 10 minutes. One from 3695 and the other from 3573. This is nothing but a phishing scam to get your info and reveal persoanl information like bank and credit card numbers, Social security numbers, or any other information that they need to steal your identity. Not sure where to report it to since by the time an investigation is launched the number will have been disconnected and they have moved on. May try the phone provider and see if they can do anything about crimes on their network.

I work for as major cell provider and I know when I see something fishy. obviously do not give any information to these people. Depending on who your provider is some companies have rue ability to block certain numbers from testing / calling.  You may want to look into it.
To the previous poster f you di not want to receive any messages at all most companies have free blocks that can be added to male sure your not charged for text messages.

I did call the cell provider and gave them the information to forward to their security department. I never called the number from the text messages. But I wanted to report it anyway so maybe something will get done. Not sure If the carrier can be held liable in some way if a phishing scam is perpetrated on their network.

I replied to one of the txt messages and nothing there either. Hopefully I wont receive these anymore... Eh, one can dream right?

Super annoying.  got like 4 texts in a row today and then one last night.  Two different numbers.   Same as above.  Seems like it's a scam like those phone calls about your car warranty expiring.  NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION TO ANYONE!

I have gotten 4 of these texts in the past 3 days.  They're annoying as I am using a prepaid service.  The number in my texts is different - it's 18888945146@inbox.com
