Rec'd a call from this number.

Unknown number - didn't answer it!  Unsure if it is a valid phone call or not?  Left vm but I have to pay to hear my vm and don't want to waste my money on unknown calls.

That number belongs to the Travelers Insurance Co. When you buy an auto policy, their system phones you to initiate an "underwriting interview" to confirm policy and billing information.  They also send you a postcard or a letter to do the same thing.

Just received a call from this number was on a business call when it came in so I sent it to voicemail, but they didn't leave a meesage. Makes absolutely no sense for a business to call and not leave a message.

This is for new Travelers Insurance auto policy holders.  They will thank you for the new policy and ask some questions to ensure the policy is correct.  This may increase or decrease your rate.  They want to make sure you are receiving all the discounts available and that you have no undisclosed drivers.  You should have received a post card to call this number for additional information.  They will call and mail more cards and letters.  They may discontinue your policy if they fail to make contact with you.

If it's actually Travelers, then they're calling the wrong number. I don't have Travelers Insurance, but just missed a call from this #.

This is true. 866-873-8672 is a legitimate phone number from travelers insurance. I verified this with my insurance agent and directly with the travelers insurance home office. They confirmed that 866-873-8672 is the direct line to their welcoming service. If you do not have a policy with travelers insurance you should not receive a call from this number. If you received a call from this number call your insurance company.
