    I recieved a call from this number and the guy said that he was a pre-legal firm trying to serve paperwork on us for a loan that we supposedly did not pay. We recieved one of these calls back in January of this year and they actually got money from us, scared us because they threatened jail time. As soon as I mentioned that I thought it was a scam and that I was going to get the FBI involved he back tracked really quickly and said that it could be a mistake. Hmmmm.

    It a collection agency trying to collect on a payday loan you took out but did not pay back.  They are using scare tactics to try and collect for their clients.  When a debtor defaults on a financial obligation, both creditor and debtor have certain rights and obligations in the collection process. These rights and obligations are enumerated in various state and federal laws, including the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Unfair Practices Act, the UCC, and the Collection Agency Regulatory Act, among others.

    Collection agency can not falsely represent or imply that any individual is an attorney or that any communication is from an attorney; represent or imply that nonpayment of any debt will result in arrest or imprisonment or the seizure, garnishment, attachment, or sale of any property or wages of any person unless such action is lawful and the debt collector or creditor intends to take such action; falsely represent or imply that the consumer committed any crime or other conduct in order to disgrace the consumer;

    If a debt collector fails to comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, then the debt collector is liable to the debtor in an amount equal to the sum of:
    a. any actual damage sustained by the debtor as a result of such failure;
    b. such additional damages as the court may allow, but not exceeding $1,000; and,
    c. in a case where the debtor’s action against the creditor for such failure succeeds, the costs of the action, together with reasonable attorney’s fees.

    Got an automated message this number telling me they had a case number on me and was going to serve  papers to my home or place of employment within 72 hours.  I called them back and got the same automated voice saying they were the dept. of prelegal intervention and mediation.  I tried to call them back and it was answered,  The woman automatically thought we had just called her back about a problem with their water pipe.  When I asked her what number I called, she couldn't give me an answer and said her boss was out of the office. I then told her that they were scammers and she hung up!

    Those idiots called my old job and told random people that they were going to serve me papers.  That's the first clue they're not a real collection agency.  Anyway I called them twice and left a message and they still haven't called me back!  Please, please, please don't give them money!  They have to prove that you owe the money.

    check out their crappy website: interlinx-lp.net

    Clarence Whitfield is not a member of the Florida Bar Association, I also tried to google him as an attorney in GA and checked the GA Bar Association-nothing.  Probably not even a real person.  Report them if they are harassing you.  Address looks bogus too.

    Other numbers they have used to contact me are, various individuals with various accents:
    770-899-6807
    866-204-5738
    678-359-3521
    679-359-3517

    When I have more time I will be reporting them to everyone I can think of and sending them a copy of my complaints via hardcopy to the FL and GA Attorney Generals via certified mail...I am betting that my copy to Clarence gets returned. The more complaints that are filed the more pressure there will be on the agencies to investigate.

    And by the way, I am supposed to be served on Friday.  HAHA.  I told them that I will not pay them a cent and that I will see them in court.  The PDL they 'claim' that I owe is not even licensed in FL so I would love to see them try this in front of a judge.  I would love to sue them for the pain and suffering they have caused me and my mother as well as for defamation of character due to the fact they have called my place of employment saying some rather incriminating things about me to my co-workers!
