Rec'd a call from a Mr. Cogswell sayng he could not contact a neighbor and called us asking us to deliver a message. When my wife asked how he got our number he was very rude to her. She then gave me the phone. He told me he was trying to help my neighbor get his phone fixed and asked that I go down there and give him his phone number. I went on the net & did a phone search for Cogswell's number and it turns out he is a supervisor for a collection agency called GC Services Limited Partnership in Texas.

We rec'd the same type of call, but they tried to discuss with my 12 year old, until he handed it over to my husband.  This is legal, however very unethical.  I would just hang up and leave them to do their own leg work on skip tracing.  I know the neighbor, however never have interaction with them, and would rather not be involved in their personal business.  You can always report to the BBB if the harrassment of your home continues.  I plan to.

We rec'd the same call from Mr Cogswell, saying the same story "for a neighbor it is just across the street please this is a very important matter please ask her to call Mr. Cogswell".  But I know better than this I started my search on the net... I am sorry but this should not been allowed. I sure will report to the BBB if he ever call again.

Or you could just say you don't want to help.  They aren't forcing you are they?

a man named James Black called me from this number and said he needed to get a hold of my neighbor.  When I asked how he got this number he said the phone book.  I of course went straight to the net.  I agree with others, they should do their own leg work.

My mother received a phone call from this company and it scared her to death. She is older and didn't understand why someone would ask her to leave her home and get the neighbor. She called me and I called the company inquiring as to who these people were. They were very rude to me and when I asked what kind of company they were and why they called my mother, the man said "What is it to you?" and then said have a good night and hung up on me.

same thing here-----they said that the neighbor's phone keeps "ringing busy" after I told them that they have moved away.  "Angelica" wanted me to take down here number and give to the neighbor if I saw her.  I have never talked to this neighbor but did it in order to get off the phone.  She wanted my husband to do it instead of me for some reason.  I asked if she was a from a  collection agency and she didn't reply.....The number she told me to have the neighbor call back at was 866-884-0184.

Caller leaves multiple messages asking my previous in-law to contact Mrs. ... at 1-866-884-0184. I call back to let them know no such person lives here. When answered, a male says "this call may be recorded for quality assurance purposes". I said I do not consent for the call to be recorded and asked him to turn their recorder off. He got loud and abrasive in asking why would I not want the call to be recorded. Instead of explaining that it was "one of my rights under state law", I just hung up.

38 of 50 states require both parties to consent to a recording.

12 states do not require either party to notify the other party that the conversation is being recorded. If you are not notified of a potential voice recording, they probably don't have to.

Mr.  Cogswell wanted to molest both of my goldfish.  I told him that he couldn't.

Mr. Cogswell called me and tried to use scare tactics on me to get me to pay a credit card account that wasn't even mine.  He is the fattest, sweatiest, most disgusting piece of feces in the whole entire world.  I hope that fat child molestor gets locked up and gets teabagged into oblivion by all of the inmates.
