- SJ Bckr| 3 repliesI don't know that this is a prank?? Says my license and certificate numbers are leaked out and hackers are using and will shut me down if I don't have their help.
The caller states he is from Windows and his Windows help organization is calling about my windows License number and computer ID number. He states that hackers have already hacked my computer and are using my license and ID and my computer will soon crash if I don't allow them to help me. He states they are a Texas base windows genuine computer service and his name is shawn. Wants to go in my machine. says my license number needs to be blocked and protected and if I don't do this I will crash in a few days and my license will expire.
I would seriously appreciate being able to verify if any such organization exists to genuinely help me and if Windows really calls owners for their benefit. I don't know how to do this.- Caller: Windows Computer Service

Gunnar - moe replies to SJ BckrRubbish! BullShi.T! Your caller is a criminal scammer. They will walk you down the prose path, convince you that you have problems, seize control of it, steal your banking and credit card info and then lock it up until you pay the extortion money. Don't believe the Shills telling you it's so good. They ARE the scammers and are trying to boost you into going for the scam
- Julie CA man called our house today, claiming to be from Microsoft and saying the messages and updates they had been sending to the computer hadn't been received. He told my husband how to "look up" all the errors on his computer, then transferred him to a "supervisor." The supervisor claimed her name was "Emily Watson" even though she had an obvious Pakistani or Indian accent, and claimed the fix for all these errors was free. She took remote control of the computer and proceeded to explain how the errors added up and would turn the screen blue. In order to fix the errors, (even though she had just claimed it was free) she said he would need a "License Key" which would cost $199 - $399 USD. When I took the phone and asked grilled her about the scam and told her I was reporting them to the Missouri Attorney General, she hung up. I have no idea how much of the information on my husband's computer was stolen or compromised.
